         <title>August 4, 1914- The First World War Begins</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Many indigenous people were involved in the First World War. After the war, they were underprivileged of the benefits of veterans, and all others who served in the service were rewarded. These indigenous people voluntarily enrolled to fight in the Canadian Military. They passionately served in every major battle the other troupe members fought in. (Government of Canada; Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada)There were a great number of indigenous people that were severely wounded and even lost their lives on the battlefields.</div>]]></description>

It took up until 1922 for all Canadian Provinces, excluding Quebec, to allow complete suffrage to all women of colour that includes Indigenous women. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

They were activists and strived for better living norms and protected Indigenous rights and traditional practices. This was the beginning for future political Indigenous groups because of the fact the government was a burden for this organization so they couldn’t make a huge impact. First Nations people could now vote without losing their status. It was the most popular option for the legal processes where Indigenous lost their Indian status (under the Indian act)&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

These kids are far away from the family for a large part of their life and are impacted significantly. However, this new rule was not consistently applied to Metis and Inuit children.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>January 1, 1929, there were complaints about Inuit/Indigenous names that are not found in the white/ European culture. White people in Canada did not think their names were of the traditional Christian kind. The government began labeling strategies to slightly change the census results to establish federal authority in Canada. However, IRCC gave Indigenous Peoples who attended residential schools and/or their families the opportunity to reclaim their Indigenous names which are part of their heritage and identity.</div><div><br></div><div><br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Residential schools become mandatory, complaints about indigenous names being changed.<br><br>When Indigenous children were forced to be sent to residential schools, the priests operating the schools damaged the Indigenous community severely. As soon as children arrived, they were immediately stripped of any Indigenous identity and culture they had. They had their long, traditional hair cut extremely short and stripped of their cultural clothes and into whitewashed or "westernized clothing" which is what every other child who attended wore aswell. Along with all of these terrible actions, These Indigenous populations was given white name to motivate the assimilation (Joseph). In 1929, there were complaints about their names begin changed and residential school survivors and their families are now eligible to reclaim their original names on all legal documents free of charge.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Fred Loft Forms the League of Indians, Indian Act Amendment Allows for Forced Enfranchisement of Status Indians.&nbsp;<br><br>&nbsp;The Fred Loft Forms and League of Indians organization was a significant activist that kept pushing for equal rights to the rest of Canada and improves the Indigenous living and trying to protect their culture from being combated against further. Since the government was so against the organization struggled to really make a difference. However, this cause is the blueprint of a positive consequence for the Indian Act Amendment which allows for the right for Indigenous peoples to now vote without losing their status along with being stripped from any more of their rights.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
