Traditional Filipino games or indigenous games in the Philippines (Tagalog: Laro ng Lahi) are games that have been played across multiple generations, usually using native materials or instruments. In the Philippines, due to limited resources for toys, children usually invent games without needing anything but players. There are different kinds of Philippine Traditional Games that are suited for kids, and the games also stand as one of the different culture and/or traditional games of the Philippines. These games are not only fun to play, but these games are also good for you. This is because different games require different skills. These games are also an important part in
Filipino culture.

Laro ng Lahi was coined and popularized by the Samahang Makasining (commonly known "Makasining") with the help of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, Philippine Local Government Units, other organizations and other institutions. Imparting these Filipino games to young Filipinos is one of the organization's main activities. The Makasining also created time-based scoring for patintero, syatong, dama, lusalos and holen butas.

Traditional Philippine games, such as luksong baka, patintero, piko, and tumbang preso are played primarily as children's games. The yo-yo, a popular toy in the Philippines, was introduced in its modern form by Pedro Flores with its name coming from the Ilocano language.

Traditional games are considered as cultural heritage because they represent a particular culture's values, beliefs, and traditions. These games have been passed down from generation to generation and have become a part of a community's identity. They are often rooted in history and are a reflection of a community's way of life, social structure, and rituals.

It is important to introduce traditional games to today's generation for several reasons. Firstly, it helps to preserve cultural heritage and ensures that the knowledge and skills associated with these games are not lost over time. Secondly, traditional games provide an opportunity for intergenerational bonding, where older members of a community can pass on their knowledge and skills to younger generations. Lastly, traditional games offer an alternative to modern technology-based games and can encourage physical activity and social interaction.

To instill the importance of traditional games as cultural heritage, it is important to create awareness and educate people about the significance of these games. This can be done through school programs, cultural festivals, and community events. Providing opportunities for people to play these games and experience them firsthand can also help to create interest and appreciation for traditional games. Back then, there were not many gadgets, and we were not yet accustomed to them when they first came in our late childhoods. Kids today utilize these gadgets because they are simple to use, but they struggle to interact with other kids, which may have a significant impact on how they communicate with others. Unlike before, our friendships experienced challenging but memorable times.Traditional Filipino Games used to be our entertainment and that helped us a lot when we were young, Physical activities has supported our body to keep it healthy unlike kids these days they are locked inside their rooms using their gadgets.

Games helped to reinforce the culture and the values considered important to the people. A majority of adults and elders would like to pass on the fun tradition to make the new generation experience the fun of being truly Filipinos.
In keeping with tradition, Magna Kultura launched the revival of LARONG PINOY in the country, by building the 1st Sports Training School and by creating infrastructure of tournaments, as well as, small livelihood business for local sari-sari stores selling larong Pinoy toy items.
