Sec 4N(A) student who has accepted a ITE EAE offer can apply for DPP or PFP

Sec 4N(A) students who have a confirmed ITE EAE offer for a Nitec or 3-year Higher Nitec course and have qualified for the DPP or PFP after the release of the GCE N- or O-Level examination results may apply for the DPP or PFP.

Students who receive a DPP offer will be required to decide between the DPP or ITE EAE offer. Students who do not decide by the stipulated deadline will be deemed to have accepted their DPP offer and their ITE EAE offer will be released.

As applications to the PFP open in January, students with confirmed ITE EAE offers may progress to ITE first before applying for PFP when applications open. Students who subsequently receive a PFP offer may withdraw from their ITE EAE course.

DPP students can take part in Poly EAE

If you are a DPP student, you may take part in the Poly EAE for ITE students. Should you be offered a place and your conditional Poly EAE for ITE students offer is subsequently confirmed, you will not be eligible to participate in the JPAE and other polytechnic admissions exercises. Your DPP guarantee of a place to a mapped polytechnic diploma course (subject to meeting the minimum qualifying GPA) will also be voided.

Should you not be offered a place through Poly EAE for ITE students or reject a Poly EAE for ITE students offer, you may apply for polytechnic admission through JPAE.

If you successfully complete your Higher Nitec course and attain the required minimum qualifying GPA, you will be able to use your DPP guarantee for polytechnic admission.

Student interested in both DPP and PFP can first progress to Sec 5 and then apply for both the PFP and DPP upon release of the GCE O-Level exam results in Jan.

Before applying for the PFP and/or the DPP, students are encouraged to consider carefully their interests and strengths, as well as the courses offered under both programmes.

One option for Secondary 4 Normal (Academic) students who are interested in both the PFP and DPP is to first progress to Secondary 5 and then apply for both the PFP and DPP upon release of the GCE O-Level examination results in January.

If the student is offered a place in both the PFP and DPP, he/she may only accept one course offer. Students who accept both offers will have both offers voided.

If the student have already accepted his/her DPP offer, his/her secondary school will contact him/her if he/she is eligible for PFP and the collection of the PFP eligibility form (Form P), after the release of the GCE O-Level results.

If the student decides to apply for and accepts his/her PFP offer in January, he/she will need to apply for withdrawal from the DPP course. Applicant can apply for refund of his/her DPP enrolment fees, subject to ITE’s approval.

Sec 4Exp can apply for both DSA-JC and Poly EAE concurrently

The Grade Point Average (GPA) represents your current standing in the programme of study. GPA is used in both ITE and Poly courses. It is the ratio of the total grade points earned to total credits attempted to date. The final GPA score at the point of graduation determines your overall programme performance.

Do I need to attend any preparatory course as part of the DPP?

Yes. If students are successful in their DPP application, they will need to attend a 10-week preparatory course starting in January 2023 before the 2-year Higher Nitec course commences in April 2023. The preparatory course comprises:

Oral & Written Communication Skills; and
Mathematics, Science or Business Skills topics.
