As the Hitler Youth became more popular, Adolf Hitler became more powerful. In 1933, a Communist arsonist set fire to the Reichstag, Germany’s parliamentary building. Hitler used the incident to declare a state of national emergency, and he suspended civil rights like freedom of speech. In the next election, the Nazis were voted more power and they passed an Enabling Act, which gave Hitler sole power to pass laws. In 1934, he became not only chancellor but also president of Germany. Hitler was now Führer of Germany. She explains how the children of Germany were taught to idolize Hitler and how they were used for labor and as soldiers in this historical book aimed at young readers.
Mrs. H says: How do you like the book?
How would you Illustrate the cover

I would Illustrate The Hitler Youth cover by adding in members that were apart of the Hitler youth. In the background of the cover I would put all of the names who were apart of the youth. I would show all of the meetings the youth had like in a collage. I would have Hitler being the biggest person on the front with his arm up praising the Nazis.

"The sick were sent to the left in a line that ended at the gas chamber. The rest---- somewhere between 20 and 40 percent---went to the right, to the labor camps" (Bartoletti 106).

Summarizing up the quote, The people who went to the gas chambers were sick and the ones who went to the labor camps were the ones who were fine. The Jews who went to the labor camps ended up eventually being put to work and killed. This quote matters because its basically saying Hitler was trying to create a genocide on a religion.
