I admire this work because of the complexity and symbolism of it. The entire parade is meant to be a welcome for those who have passed into the afterlife. The way the welcome presents is different for everyone, often as their favorite event when they were alive. The Patient, the subject of the album, was taken to a parade by his father as a child and it was his fondest memory. The parade welcomes him into the afterlife as he dies of cancer. The way it's portrayed and the style of the art conveys a lot as to how death was viewed.
