In the book Billy wanted two hunting hounds but they were 50 dollars in total but he worked at it and after the two years they worked he got a dog. Next he worked really hard to get the ghost coon he did not kill it but he could of because he worked hard. Lastly he worked really hard and trained for the champion hunt for a lot of money he won and his family moved out and into the city. This is why the theme of the story is that if you work hard you can do pretty much anything. Well-stated theme with very suitable evidence.
