I then spent the rest of the lesson using Photoshop to create the print based advert that we all have to make to accompany our adverts. Despite the fact that I am not the best with Photoshop I think that the poster turned out quite good. I decided to take a more surreal approach to the idea of drink driving and create a more horror-type effect by adjusting the contrast and brightness to make the poster darker, which will set quite a negative tone, I also used a font which looked like blood writing to create a negative attitude towards drink driving, by doing this it uses the Hypodermic Needle theory as it conveys to the audience that drinking too heavily can kill you, it also uses scare tactics to have more of an effect on the audience. In tomorrows lesson we are going to be editing the footage and putting it all together. Me and another member of my team went to help film another group with their production whilst the director and editor continued to edit the footage, during the meeting we discussed the best way to edit the footage and how we can make the lighting look better, in the end we decided that it would be best to have a more red light as it would convey the right message, that being that drink driving is dangerous. I then decided to work on my print based advert to try and improve it. Whilst editing the video we also came up with a new idea that we could slowly zoom in onto the bottle of alcohol at the end of the video, this lasted for about 20 seconds and the lighting just focused on the bottle, in order to do this we used the track and dolly so that the shot was more smooth in terms of moving closer to the bottle, in the edit the strap line "stop drinking without thinking" will come up in the space between the bottle and the wall, by having a strap line it makes the advert more effective as it leaves the audience with something to take away from the advert when thinking about it.
