Talk to more people (especially at school, with similar-aged people) and also accept that it takes time to find friends in a new community. Don't put too much stress on socialising, eventually the right person will find you.
Ask neighbours for sign-up details (or friends who she knows is in the community group) and talk (even online) to friends and family. Don't watch too much TV!
