The setting can affect the plot of a story because the setting could show what kind of challenges you might face if you live in certain places. It could affect your actions or how you live. In the story “The Story Of Keesh” it states that “from the poorest igloo in the village, rose to power and place over them all.” This piece of evidence show that if Keesh did not live in the Arctic it would not make sense to say he lived in the poorest igloo. In addition if Keesh father did not die he would of never lived in a poor igloo. Another way setting affected Keesh life is that his father died because he got into a fight with a polar bear. In the story “The Story Of Keesh” it states that “when he sought to save the lives of his people by taking the life of a great polar bear.” This piece of evidence shows that if Keesh lived in California for example it wouldn’t make sense that he fought a polar bear because polar bears don’t walk the street around California, they are only in the cold climates. This piece of evidence also showed that Keesh father died and after that he lived in the poorest igloo.

The setting affects the plot of "The Story of Keesh" because the setting sets the sequence of occurrence that affects the story and tone. The story would be affected by the setting because in the Arctic setting of "The Story of Keesh" it states " The father of Keesh had been a very brave man, but he had met his death in a time of famine, when he sought to save the lives of his people by taking the life of a polar bear." This shows that Keesh's father sacrificed his life to survive in the Arctic, so he live a polar for food and for safety of his village. The story would also be affected by the setting because in the Arctic setting of "The Story of Keesh" it states "from the poorest igloo". This shows that there is something lacking his place of home, which is a father figure at home. To finalize, the Arctic setting set the sequence of occurrence, which affected Keesh.

The setting effects the characters by making it a challenge for the characters to survive. Already, it’s a challenge to live in the Arctic, but Keesh’s village was said to be “the village, on the rim of the polar sea” which was colder that some of the other parts of the Arctic. It was also said to have “north gales that no man may venture forth” making it harder for the village to survive (to go hunting) and easier for a famine to take place. Because of the setting Keesh’s father had to sacrifice himself for his people, so they could survive through the famine, as a result of his deeds Keesh had to live with his mother and had to grow a backbone to live up to his fathers doing for the people. When Keesh's father died he and his mother had the poorest igloo in the village because in their village the mens did all the hunting as the other villages do, so the mens where an important key to survival, also each men in a family did the hunting for their own families, but when Keesh's father died, keesh’s family struggled to survive and so he had to grow up faster in order to take care of his mother. To conclude the setting made it difficult for the characters to survive and also created suspense in the story.

The setting affects the characters and plot in the “The Story of Keesh” because of the type of challenges they face. Unlike most stories, “The Story of Keesh” is set in the A rctic. According to the text “The Story of Keesh”, “The father of Keesh...met his death in a time of famine... by taking the life of a great polar bear.” For that reason, Keesh had lost his father because of the terrible conditions in the Arctic. Another example is, according to the text, “Keesh lived long ago on the rim of the polar sea”. Long ago, the men’s job was to hunt, while the woman’s was to cook. However, if the time was set to a more recent year, Keesh’s father would have hopefully been spared his life.

The setting and plot affects the characters because if the story took place somewhere else Keesh's father wouldn't have faced the same challenges he did in the Arctic like the polar bears. The Arctic has different climates and it's harder to survive unless you got proper tools and materials. In "The story Keesh" Keesh's father sacrifices himself to save his people. The story states "The father of Keesh had been a very brave man, but he had met his death in a time of famine, when he sought to save the lives of his people by taking the life of a great polar bear." This detail shows how Keesh's father died by fighting a polar bear without any weapons. Keesh's father saved his people from a polar bear, if the story were to take place in another place Keesh's father would have not been in a fight with a polar bear. Another detail is "In his eagerness he came to close grapples with the bear, and his bone were crushed; but the bear had much meat on him and the people were saved." This detail shows how the Keesh's father was brave and sacrifices himself for his people and the people were very hungry. All in all this shows how the setting of the story affects the characters.

The setting affects the plot of the story because it impacts it, it sets the mood differently, the setting drives the plot of the story which affects what it’s going to be about and the challenges that the main character might face. According to “The Story of Keesh” it states, “For each winter the sun leaves the land in darkness, and the next year a new sun returns so that they may be warm again and look upon one another’s faces.” This describes how everyday is like and how it sets the mood of it. Keesh was a thirteen year old boy that lost his father and he lived alone with his mother and his father lost his life to save his people in the village, Keesh learned from it and became the headmen of his village after his father and took care of his people. According to “The Story of Keesh” it states, “Keesh lived long ago on the rim of the polar sea, was headman of his village through many and prosperous years, and died full of honors with his name on the lips of men.” The death of Keesh’s father made him who he was and he set a good role for his people and protected them until the end like his father, from “A Homeless Girl’s Dream”, Khadijah was homeless and if it wasn’t for that she wouldn’t have had the courage to want to go to Harvard because her being homeless pushed her, just like Keesh’s fathers death pushed him. The setting of the story does affect the characters plot of the story and this explains why.

The setting affects the character and the plot because it changes the challenges and the events that may happen throughout the story. According to "The Story of Keesh" it states, "The father of Keesh had been a very brave man, but he had met his death in a time of a famine when he sought to save the lives of his people by taking the life of a great polar bear." This shows that the father probably wouldn’t have died sacrificing himself for his people by a polar bear. Due to the fact that they live in the Arctic and the the climate is very cold food is very scarce. If it wasn't for the famine maybe the father didn't have to battle the polar bear in order to fight his people. It also states in, "The Story of Keesh" also states, "Keesh was his only son, and after that Keesh lived alone with his mother." This shows that Keesh wouldn't have been an orphan if his father didn't die. If the characters lived in a different climate there probably wouldn't be as much challenges for Keesh and his mother.

In "The Story Of Keesh" the setting affects the plot of the story by facing challenges and saving lives in the arctic. For example " The father of keesh a very brave man, but he had met his death in a time of famine, when he sought to save the lives of his people by taking a life of a great polar bear. In his eagerness he came to close grapples with the bear, and his bones were crushed; but the bear had much meat on him and the people were saved." This shows that he had to sacrifice himself for his own family. And people still remember him for his great act. Another Example " And the winter darkness, when the north gales make thier long sweep across the icepack, and the air is filled with flying white, and no man may venture forth, is the chosen time for the telling of how keesh, from the poorest igloo in the village, rose to power and place over them all." This shows that keesh has faced tough time's throught the winter arctic untill one day all of that changed.

The setting affects the plot and the characters of story because the setting shows the challenges that the main character may face. In "The Story of Keesh", The father of Keesh had been a very brave man, but he had met his death in a time of famine, when he sought to save the lives of his people by taking the life of a great polar bear". This piece of evidence shows that Keesh's father had to sacrifice his life to save his people. Also, this is a challenge for Keesh because he was now a father-less child. In "The Story of Keesh" it states, "But the people forget the deed of his father, and him being but a boy, and his mother only a woman they were swiftly forgotten, and ere long came to live in the meanest of all the igloos". This piece of evidence shows the challenges Keesh and his mom faces and what his father did to protect his people and they forget about him.

Another example is that " In his eagerness he came to close grapples with the bear, and his bones was crushed and the bear had much meat on him and the people were saved." In the text it states "In his eagerness he came to close grapples with the bear, and his bones were crushed; but the bear had much meat on him and the people were saved." The father was a hunter, who was a very key person to help the people to survive. Which leads him to live with his mother alone.

The setting can affect the plot or characters because the challenges the character would face be different. For example in "The Story of Keesh" where the setting take place in the Arctic and the story wouldn't have the same conflict. In the text, it states, "For each winter the sun leaves the the land in darkness, and the next year a new sun returns so that they may be warm again and look upon one another's faces". This would affect the plot if the the settings was different for instance if it was in a warmer climate. Another example, is "when he sought to save the lives of his people by taking the life of a great polar bear". If the setting of the story was different Keesh's father may not have a have a polar bear to fight specially if the were in a warmer setting. For example, Keesh's father losing his life to a polar bear in the rain forest would not fit the with the plot. Why the setting affects the characters or plot.

The setting affects the character or plot of the story in " The Story Of Keesh" because there is a lot of "winter darkness" in the Arctic to the point they can't see. In " The Story Of Keesh" it states, " and the winter darkness, when the north gales make their long sweep across the ice pack, and the air is filled with flying white". This shows that the setting affects the plot or the character because it shows where the story takes place and how the characters manage to survive in it. Another piece of evidence to show how the setting affects the plot of the story or the characters is because the Arctic caused Keesh's father to die. In, " The Story Of Keesh", it states, " The father of Keesh had been a very brave man, but he had met his death in a time of famine, when he sought to save the lives of his people by taking the life of a great polar bear, In his eagerness he came to close grapples with the bear, and his bones were crushed ; but the bear had much meat on him and the people were saved." This shows that the setting affected the characters because from them being in the Arctic it caused his father to die from trying to hunt a polar bear. Also, by Keesh's father throwing his life away for people not to starve from hunger.

The setting would affect the characters or plot because in the story Keesh faced many challenges during the story. For example: his father sacrificed his life by saving people from the polar bear and his dad was a brave man. According in the text “ The father of keesh had been a very brave man,but he had met his death in a time of famine, when he sought to save the lives of his people by taking the life of a great polar bead. This evidence shows that now Keesh lives in the poorest village with her mother in the Arctic and his family is struggling when his father died. For Keesh living in the Arctic on the “rim of the polar sea” it is very hard to find food for her Mother ,since he is the only men in the family. In the text “ And the winter darkness, when the north gales make their long sweep across the ice pack, and the air is filled with flying white, no man may.....from the poorest igloo in the village, rose to power and place over them all.” This evidence Demonstrates that the village that Keesh is living in is the coolest place and struggled In order to survive the Arctic.

The setting affects the plot or character in "The story of Keesh" because the challenges that the characters would face be different. The characters and the plot are affected by the setting in various ways. The "Story of Keesh" takes place in the Arctic. Since Keesh's father died, fighting off a polar bear, he is now living in the poorest igloo. I can support this with evidence from the text. It states, "But the people are prone to forget the deed of his gather; and he being but a boy, and his mother only a woman, they, too, were swiftly forgotten, and ere long came to live in the meanest of all igloos." If the setting wasn't as extreme, then his father wouldn't have to risk his life to save his village from a famine. This is how setting can affect the characters. The setting can affect the plot because since Keesh lives in an extreme environment which caused his father's death. If
the environment wasn't as extreme, then he would've most likely lived and this would have changed the plot. I can support this with evidence from the text. It states, "The father of Keesh is a very brave man, but he met his death in a time of famine, when he sought to save lives of his people by taking the life of a great polar bear." This shows that because there was no food in this extreme environment, he risked his life for his people but died in the process. This shows that the setting can affect the plot. Therefore, setting can affect the characters and the plot of a story.

It affects your opinion about what the story is about and point of view about ''The Story Of Keesh'' . For example The Story Of Keesh setting is the Arctic, it cold and windy in the Arctic. Also Keesh farther had fight a polar bear to save his people. According to the story it states, " The farther of Keesh had been a very brave man, but he had met his death in a time of famine, when he sought to save the lives of his people by taking the life of a polar bear". Because of that Keesh has been living with his mom all his live. It was hard in the Arctic . It hrader to hunt and it's really cold. You can get frostbite or ammonium. Another piece of evidence is, "And the winter darkness, when the north gales make their long sweep across the icepack, and the air is filled with flying white, and no man may venture forth. This evidence shows how challenging the Arctic can be. In conclusion the setting and plot of the story can change your point of view and your opinion

"In the story of Keesh" the character can be changed by the setting of his location, the arctic. It can make a whole point of him surviving possible. In the text it states "In his eagerness he came to close grapples with the bear, and his bones were crushed; but the bear had much meat on him and the people were saved." The father was a hunter, who was a very key person to help the people to survive. Which leads him to live with his mother alone. Another quote is "he was a bright boy, so take runs, healthy and strong, and he had seen thirteen suns, in their way if reckoning time." After losing his father and the setting on where eesh is can affect Keesh thinking there is no possibility of surviving is not possible.

The setting affects the character and plot because if "The Story Keesh" wasn't set in the Arctic his father most likely wouldn't be in a situation where he had to face off against a polar bear. Keesh's father believed he had to kill the polar bear because there was a famine. Men were usually the ones hunting and they were running low on food and resources. For example in the excerpt it states "The father of Keesh had been a very brave man, but he had met his death in a time of famine, when he sought to save the lives of his people by taking the life of a great polar bear." This quote shows that Keesh's father had to sacrifice himself to make sure the rest of his family could survive. Another piece of evidence is "In his eagerness he came close grapples with the bear,

The setting affects the characters and the plot of the story because Keesh is in the Arctic and there are a lot of challenges that can be faced because of his surroundings. In the excerpt " The Story of Keesh" it states " The father of Keesh had been a very brave man, but he had met his death in a time of
famine, when he sought to save the lives of his people by taking the life of a great polar bear". This piece if evidence shows Keesh's father had to sacrifice himself to save his people and this is a challenge for Keesh as well due to the fact that his father died and he only has his mom. In the excerpt " The Story of Keesh " it states they forgot the deed of his father; and he being but a boy, and his mother only a woman, they too were swiftly forgotten, and ere long came to live in the meanest of all the Igloos. This piece of evidence shows that this was a challenge Keesh and his mom faced due to the fact that the people forgot what his dad did and the people forgot about him and his mom so the lived roughly.

The setting effect the character and the plot in "The Story Of Keesh" , is because when Keesh father died in the famine and he live in the arctic , and it can be hard for him. They're wild animals in the Arctic that can attack you,According to the text it state that " The father of Keesh had been a very brave man, but he had met his death in a time of famine ,when he sought to save the lives his people by taking the life of the great polar bear " This shows that the father is sacrificing his life. Another example is that " In his eagerness he came to close grapples with the bear, and his bones was crushed and the bear had much meat on him and the people were saved." This mean that since Keesh father sacrificed his own life for his people so they wont starve but he died because of the famine and now it was difficult for Keesh and his mom to live because they have nobody to hunt for them and its cold in the arctic.

The setting affects the characters or plot of the story of Keesh, because living in the Arctic is difficult and for Keesh it was worse because he was living without his father and in a community like theirs the men’s are the important ones because they can hunt and without a father figure Keesh will most likely have difficulties. Forexanple in the text it says “ The father of Keesh had been a very brave man,but he had met his death in a time of famine, when he sought to save the lives of his people by taking the life of a great polar bear.”

The setting affects the characters and plot of the story because when Keesh's father sacrificed himself and grappled with the polar bear to end the famine of his people, as stated in the text "In his eagerness he came to close grapples with the bear, and his bones were crushed..",
if he were in a different location with different weather climates like Florida where there are no polar bears there is a chance that he could still be alive and they could have had a better home. In the text it states that " But the people are prone to forget, and they forgot the deed of his father; and he being but a boy, and his mother only a woman, they, too, were swiftly forgotten, and ere long came to live in the meanest of all igloos. This quote supports the fact that Keesh and his mother lived in the worst conditioned igloo.

The setting a can affect a plot because depending on your surroundings certain things can happen that could’ve been avoided in other places. For example ,in “The Story of Keesh” , the setting Is in the artic where it’s cold and difficult to survive .And, the main character keesh ,his father died because he was killed by a polar bear .Now polar bear only live in the artic , so if keesh’s father was in another place such as Hawaii , he wouldn’t have lost his life to a polar bear. This proves how the setting affects the plot .

In the story "The Life of Keesh" The setting affect the characters or plot of the story because his father died in a famine and he was born and raised in the Arctic. For example, in paragraph 1 states " And the winter darkness, when the North gales make their long sweep across the ice pack, and the air is filled with flying white, and no man may venture forth explains how the Arctic is very cool at the night time and many men has hunted during the night time. Not to mention, in paragraph 1 states "From the poorest igloo in the village, rose to power and place over them all." This explain how Keesh was born and raised in a bad shape igloo and he worked hard to help his igloo be in the best shape. As can be seen, Keesh lifestyle is affected by his fathers death and rasied in the poorest igloo

The setting of a story affects characters in the story of Keesh Becuase t changes what challenges they may face for example on dry land we face problems with wild fires where as in the arctic the Inuit face problems with polar bears and lack of food. One detail is “no weak one shall cry in the night becuase there is no meat”.This detail shows how setting affects a character. My second detail is “ people are prone to forget The deed of his father ; and they forgot the deed of his father. This detail shows how a setting affects a character Becuase has it not been for his father to die helping the village he wouldn’t have had this push to help the poorest of the tribe.this detail shows how setting affects a keesh

The setting affects the plot of "The Story of Keesh " because if the story took place somewhere else Keesh's father wouldn't have face so many challenges in the Artic like polar bear. In Artic the weather in the morning it isn't hot but the sun comes up . When it's night the weather is crazy filled with flying white .
