They were aware that the only freedom they had was to speak their story; they dared not record it or read another person's story.

We learn more about ourselves and others through stories. When reading stories, we develop empathy for the characters we meet. Our students will benefit from this capacity to learn from stories throughout their lives.

We now obtain our stories from sources such as social media, books, and movies.
