Unfortunately, 33-80% of people who are forced to go to treatment experience worse outcomes than if they had never gone to treatment.

  • Emphasizing people’s autonomy and staying with them in “rock bottom” moments allows us to amplify the significant moments of self-recognition. Being able to connect folks to opportunities and resources when they realize their worth is what our compassion is doing. It would be great to be able to do that for everyone, but currently most resources are going toward ineffective services-as-usual – which evidence disproves time and time again

That, they are making a "lifestyle choice."
     Not true, they just may not want high barrier housing. They may not want conditions that they can not abide by. You need to think about recovery in a broader system and how we can reduce stigmas. You cannot put it all on the person who is trying to change. Substance use "problems" are constructs of environments and the social networks that people have.
