This activity will probably take half the session time.

Hand-out reflection sheet and ask students to take 5 minutes to fill it out individually (sheet includes ranking yourself 1-5 in categories like “preventing cramming,” “memorization,” and “complex concepts” AND explaining why you ranked yourself the way you did).

After filling it out individually, go down the list of categories and ask students to raise their hand if they ranked themselves low in this category, then high in this category. When you ask if students ranked themselves poorly, feel free to say “I suck at this too” or “I really my struggles with this in this class” to make them feel better.

Ask a student who ranked themselves high to discuss what they did to feel like they do well in that category.

Talk about what you (SI) did to do well in categories.
