I chose this event because of its political and social significance. The political influence comes from its temporary preservation of peace between free and slave states. It established a barrier between the two sides which was able to descelate the situation dividing the country. The social significance is because it brought some peace between the two sides.

This event had significant due to its social influence because it ruled that African Americans were not and could not be citizens of the U.S. It ruled that a specific group of people who were in the U.S were unable to become citizens. This affected their place socially as they were seen as less because they were unable to become citizens. It also had some political significance as the decision to do this was ruled by the Supreme Court which is a political body of the U.S.

I chose this event because of its political and social significance. The political influence is because the pro-slavery and anti slavery people were fighting eachother to make Kansas a slave/free state. They both wanted to increase the influence of their side which resulted in a lot of bledshed among the two sides. The social influence of the event is because it increased tensions among the two sides of this conflict.

This event a lot of political influence as it was the election between the two presidential candidates. The Republican would attempt to get a deal among the two sides in which the republicans got the presidency, but the democrats got something else in return. The democrats re-established home rule and race control in return for the presidency. This is why it also shares social value as it allowed for segragation in the south to occur as this marked the end of reconstruction.
