George Washington was born on February 22nd, 1732, in Westmoreland County, Virgina. Before becoming America's first president Washington served as a member of the House of Burgess, the Continental Congress, commander of the army, and chairman of the Constitutional Convention. A fun fact about Washington is that he wore dentures, he often wore pairs that were a mix of animal teeth and human teeth. Another fun fact is that originally George Washington didn't want to become president. He was reluctant to take the position, because he was afraid he wouldn't be good enough.

Washington warned against three things in his farewell address. First, he warned against the formation of political parties, he believed such political disagreement would divide the country. Second, he urged the nations leaders to remain neutral, and steer clear of permanent alliances. Lastly, he mentioned the need to keep taxes reasonable, he did not feel it was good to overtax the American People.
