The main argument in this article is that the film is a "time capsule". This film should continue being shown in schools, schools should continue using this book and film in them for educating children on racism and many other topics like that.

The author's reasoning was that the film is (again) a "time capsule" meaning no matter how old the film is, the statements made in it are still relevant and should still be taught.

I agree with this because...
This film and book have so many lessons about racism to offer. This film also shows lessons about new people like Boo who the children thought was some terrible person. But it turns out Boo was looking out for the children the whole movie/book. It teaches people that we shouldn't always judge a book by it's cover.

The main argument of this article was that 'To kill a Mockingbird' was a job well done that the book and movie was good.

They were both good because in the article it states that "it was converted from the comprehensive prose of the printed page to the visual and dramatic storytelling essence of the screen". Which means that the book and the movie was equally good which rarely happens.

I agree that the book and the movie were equally good because there was a lot of emotion in the book that they took out and the actors played it very nicely in the movie, they were feeling what the characters were feeling

The main argument of this article is to keep the book "To Kill a Mockingbird" in schools. Even if it has strong language that makes students uncomfortable, they should still keep it in schools and have students learn about the topic this book has.

The author's reasoning was that you can still teach the same lessons of this book without the uncomfortable language. No matter what schools just still teach these important lessons to children.

I agree with this article because it helps teach you about how black men and women were treated, and how growing up was hard during that time period.

The main argument of this article is that "To Kill a Mockingbird" has language that kids could take offence to as 8th graders. They think we get the wrong idea from the book then were supposed to.

The authors reasoning is that from the book we get that the white girl is right and the black man is wrong. We could get the idea that every time someone goes to trial they lie about it or tell the truth and no one believes. Also the language in the book is harsh to some people.

I disagree with the article because not everyone will think that women would lie about being raped like Mayella Ewell in the movie. You don't have to be a girl to be raped either. I agree with the language part but I think we understand the time period between then a now and now it's not okay.

The article I read, argues about whether or not we should keep the book in the curriculum. It uses somewhat radical ideas to stray away from the original main point, which is never proven. The author uses insane ideas like the book convinces girls that they won't be believed when raped, or that the book targets the black and poor. I disagree with the article, it doesn't even cite a single piece of evidence, it's just someone who doesn't like the book. There is no real evidence provided.
