The Democrat party's political platform starts with the preamble, in which they introduce Trump as someone driven by "revenge and retribution" and name him as their main opposition. The preamble, pages 3 and 4, also contains their motivation of creating a more equal economic environment for all Americans. Specifically, they list race and gender inequality as targets to eliminate in their campaign.

In the table of contents on page 5, there is a broad overview of the spheres the Democrats wish to tackle. Chapter Two: Rewarding Work, Not Wealth reflects their goals of a more equal environment, and is also a slogan representing many Americans' ideal system: a meritocracy, where hard work begets benefits.

Their platform seems geared towards minimizing wealth gaps in the United States. This can be appealing for poorer Americans, who see an opportunity to achieve success by getting a leg up from government support, as seen by this article where a substantial portion of democrat voters, 4 in 10, are non-white or multiracial. However, their specific goal of increasing taxes on corporations makes it unappealing to back from a business standpoint.

The Republican Party

The Republican Party starts their platform document by dedicating it to several groups including the military and law enforcement. This immediately aligns them with these groups, and can get voters who strongly support the military and law enforcement to feel more positively about the Republican Party.

The platform's preamble immediately highlights the Republican Party's dedication to "American exceptionalism," a phrase that is likely to resonate with people who consider themselves patriotic. The military is again brought up, strengthening the link between military and Republican ideas. This is probably part of the reason that many Republican voters consider themselves traditional, as "traditional" can often invoke the image of a rebellious and independence-seeking America fighting back with its military. The Republican Party wishes to address a weak border, but otherwise overbearing central government.

The Republican Party appeals to nostalgia and the "American Dream," directly quoting its table of contents. In this section, taxes are deemed unnecessarily complex, and that the solution "must have a common sense approach." Going on to explain their motivations as stimulating the economy, this is very appealing to businesses as incentivizing investments is likely to mean lower taxes. This can give the Republican Party many powerful supporters, but possibly at the expense of non corporate entities.

The Green Party

The Green Party is further Left than the Democrats, and this is reflected in its platform page on the Green Party website. The table of contents shows that of four sections, one is dedicated to social justice, and another is completely focused on environmental policy. This can attract voters who care deeply about both of these topics.

A lot of the Green Party's policy involves action plans related to environmentalism. First underneath the environmentalism section is climate change, an issue that most Americans say will continue to worsen in their lifetime. Economically, the Green Party wants to impose fees on polluting sources of energy to discourage their use, reducing the amount of pollution created by the United States.

Socially, the Green Party also focuses on racial and gender divides and how those disadvantaged groups can receive support to alleviate some of the oppression they deal with. However, their table of contents sections also include disabled people and marginalized gender and sexuality groups. For an issue that woman are more likely to face, human trafficking, the platform lists "enforcement of existing laws and passage of tough new ones, punishing traffickers, aiding victims," and more.
