I think it is important for the learners to give them opportunities to experience. As tutors, we are responsible for broadening perspectives but also providing opportunities to develop relevant skills to understand and engage with those different perspectives. I would suggest that in that case literacy is, not the only one but certainly, the main skill. I feel it is important that they value hard work and meeting set deadlines. This can then be transferred into the working world.
