With major investments in programs like the EDA Build Back Better Regional Challenge, Good Jobs Challenge, and the ongoing NSF Innovation Engines program many of us have been supporting proposals with an explicit focus on Economic Development. 

The research and education at our institutions leads our RD work, however, for truly impactful economic development our impact must be measured in the benefits, economic and social, to the stakeholders we seek to support, usually external to our organizations. This can lead to conflicts with our traditional thinking around how to secure funding to support these endeavors.

Looking for folks to speak on their experiences in these types of programs and how we might better adapt to these types of opportunities in the future for a session or roundtable.
