"Really!? I don't know about it yet." Laurie's mother surprised. As she got back home she asked laurie about Charles. And Laurie's answer make her surprised even more. "He's there mom he said he wanna make friend with me, so I invited him to have a lunch with us." Said Laurie while pointing to an empty chair.

I was shocked after he said it. I thought about all the possibilities that could have happened, I don't why, but I'm sure there's something wrong here. Then who is Charles really. Ah I can't bear to think about it. I heard from the teacher that Laurie was pretty bad at the beginning of the school year. But lately he's been quite well behaved. Isn't she telling about Charles? "Are you telling Charles miss", I asked to the teacher. " Pardon me ma'am, I have told you that there is no Charles here. I'm talking about Laurie right now." I no longer listen to her words, I'm just busy with my mind saying has Laurie been lying?

When I got home, I immediately took Laurie to a psychiatrist. Fear that he will become addicted to lying, or maybe shy. I don't know, I'm leaving this matter to a psychiatrist. There Laurie was asked several questions about the figure of Charles. He called Charles a friend at school.
"Don't lie, Laurie, I know from your teacher that you're lying." I said it in a stern tone.
However, the psychiatrist dodged very convincingly "He said honestly madam"
In the midst of my confusion, Laurie began to speak in a different tone
"Hi madam,"

"I'm Charles"

But inside my heart, I still didn’t believe it. “Are you sure?”. “Yes, ma’am. There’s no child named Charles.” Her expression changed slightly, but for god's sake, her eyes seemed to be trying to warn me. I know something’s wrong. I rushed to find my husband and returned home. "Excuse me, ma’am" While in front of the building, a man called us.

"Did you mention Charles?"

"Yes, why?"

"We had a student named Charles 5 years ago. She was still confused by the fact that there was no Charles from the very beginning. She told her husband that the Charles that their son has always talked about was actually Laurie himself. The husband became quiet as he slowly asked the mother, "Charles.... who's that you're brother? and who is this son of ours that you were talking about? Laurie?" "Don't you remember? he was just here this morning!" Asked the mother confused. "Oh no... you're having a fit, aren't you? How can I say this... Yes we were going to have a son and yes we have decided on a name, it was Laurie, but sadly there was an accident." Explained the husband calmly. "You survived, but the baby didn't... and ever since then, for these past weeks you've only talked to yourself." Said the husband. The mother reacted violently, but before she could hurt herself the husband had to sedate her before it's too late. Before she lost consciousness, she could hear a boy crying faintly in the background as her husband said, "I'm sorry for making you go through this."

After the PTA ended, not even telling my husband, I took Laurie to the nearest psychiatrist. I was afraid if Laurie has some problem with hallucination or even if he has an identity disorder. The only thing that came up to my mind was what should I do to give the best to my dear son.

I was worried, but not surprised when the psychiatrist told me that Laurie might have the possibility of having an imaginary friend from his hallucination or even diagnosed with a dissociative identity disorder. They told us that they are going to examine Laurie more with some following tests. I'm glad that I know this at the moment and not too late. At least, I know that my son would have the right treatment from the right people.
