Through her brief but noteworthy life, Senesh became a symbol of idealism and self-sacrifice.  Senesh was born july 17, 1921 in budapest, Hungary as the daughter of a author and journalist. Altough her family was assmilated, anti- sentiment in Budapest led her to involment zionlist activities, and she left Hungary for Eretz Yisreal in 1939. She studied first at an agricultural school, and then settled at Kibbutz Sdot Yam. In 1943, Senesh Joined the British Army and volunteered to be parachuted into Europe.

On July 7, 1944, at the height of the deportation of Hungarian jews, Senesh croosed the border into Hungary. She was caught almost immediately  by the Hungarin  police, and tortured her cruelly and repeatedialy over the next several months.

While Hannah Senesh was tortured and integrated to tell the Code of a transmitter but she didn’t say anything except her name she was then sent to a prison and trialed for treason and was then killed by a firing squad on November 7, 1944.
