In creating the Procurement Division, the president wanted to effect “certain regroupings, consolidations, transfers, and abolitions of executive agencies and functions thereof” [2]. The Public Buildings Branch (PBB) was given the former duties of the Office of the Supervising Architect (another Treasury office) and was ultimately responsible for the construction of new federal buildings, as well as the maintenance of most existing federal buildings – which had never previously been consolidated under one heading. The work included presenting information to Congress, acquiring land for construction projects, drafting building plans, reviewing bids and awarding contracts, supervising construction activities, and doing necessary repairs [3].

The Living New Deal project grew timelier as California’s economic condition deteriorated into what press and pundits routinely dubbed the Great Recession, the worst crisis since the 1930s and similarly the product of rampant corruption that sprang from deregulation. Unfortunately for present-day California, the state’s modern leadership was doing precisely the opposite of what Roosevelt’s New Deal did to kick the economy out of the doldrums.

Under this act, national park, monuments, and historical sites are all protected under the umbrella of the National Park Service. The federal government, through the National Park Service, was now responsible for creating and promoting the establishment and expansion of these national parks and monuments. Joshua Tree, California is one of many national parks and monuments included in this act. Other states are also affected by the federal parks reorganizations.

It was signed into law by president Franklin Roosevelt on the 12th of May, 1933. The law restricted crop production, decreased and refinanced stocks/mortgage. Large quantities of producing crops cause prices to fall. Some farmers lose their farms and lose a lot of money on wasted crops. So farmers got paid to destroy the crops and produce.

The Social Security Administration (Securities and Exchange Act) (SSA) protects people and provides them old-age pensions, unemployment benefits, support for dependent children, support for mothers and children, and public health assistance. SSA helps people who need assistance, such as women, children, and veterans. SSA provides money to women who need assistance in raising children. Many children who depend on parents receive money, housing, and food assistance from the SSA.

The WPA contributed to the mass unemployment in the states. The construction of the airports, the construction of the bridges, and the construction of the schools were all aided by the WPA. The construction of these works gave jobs to the workers who built them and also provided jobs for the workers who worked at the new buildings and the new schools. The WPA aided the state of California because it aided our state in reducing the unemployment of the people of our state.
