The song has the lyric "Who am I now in this world without her? Petty and dull with the nerve to doubt her. What does it matter? It's already done." which, in context of the cartoon, means that the love of the singer's life (Pearl) has died and she will not be coming back. I still believe that this is what the quote stands for in the play.
