I send you this letter from the Blenheim Palace. Ever since you sent me the letter of inspiration, the US and the empire of Great Britain have worked together in this war. On the day of Jan. 20 of the year 1940. You had it delivered by a man known as Wendell Wilkie (Roosevelt's political opponent, delivered by hand!) . It was sent containing the Longfellow poem of "The Building of the Ship." 
 
This poem gave me great inspiration in my time of need. I received it as an inspiration and framed it. It proposed the US sending my wonderful country supplies for the second World War. Soon after in 1941 I visited the White House. I discussed the war with you. Your citizens seemed to love me. Then we became fast friends. I write this to remind you of our humble beginnings. If we hadn't become friends, the war might never end.

Yet, it also sends tragedy flowing into my bones. I Sir Winston grieve and celebrate this day of October 30, in the year 1940. I am now in  Blenheim Palace, in which I live as I serve my terms. Today the Battle of Britain ended. Our city of London has at last fended off the Germans. The air force calls itself the Luftwaffe rained bombings upon the city of London hoping to break our spirit. 

But, if I have learned one thing in all of my years as a solider in the British army. It would be you never give up. Urging our air force to continue fighting, the city of London raised morale. So indeed the air force stopped moping and started fighting. At last on the day of what is now yesterday, we drove the Germans out. Today we grieve for the near 40,000 that died in bombing raids.  Although, we never gave up, and we might have at last reached a turning point in the war for the land on Great Britain.

I Winston Churchill, Prime Minister of England rejoice! Germany has surrendered! The Soviet Union led by Joseph Stalin have won the so called Battle of Berlin. It is said that Adolf Hitler ended his own life during this war. I, Sir Winston Churchill believe that he thought at last he was outnumbered. Today on May 8th 1945, Europe celebrates. 

Today I stay in London with my citizens. Although, Japan has not surrendered yet. But, I am sure they will surrender in less than a week now that Germany is gone. I still rejoice at the fact that the Soviet union was able to stop so many soldiers. However, the USA is still pursuing war in the pacific. Today is not all smiles and laughs though. There was around 1,298,745 casualties in the Battle of Berlin. Even if some of those were German that's still 1,298,745 times a family will be mourning. It is an estimate of 50 million deaths in the entire war.  The war has ended, but at a cost...

I, Sir Winston Churchill am panicking myself while in my great city of London.. The great country of France has fallen. On May 10 1940, Germany invaded. The military of France could not withstand a full-scale invasion. Their forces were completely crushed in the entire country in less than a month. 
Throughout Britain, it was know known as the Battle of France. But know, a grave new name takes its place: the Fall of France. it has been rumored there was upwards of 150,000 total deaths. I have been trying to contact the United States of America. Maybe they will be able to help. The hope drains from me, the war may have turned against our favor.

France has been liberated! The plan was called D-Day (or designated day). It was orchestrated by a fellow known as Dwight D. Eisenhower. I, Winston Churchill am surprised and impressed by his bravery, and cunning.  

Today, on June 7th 1944, stories about the invasion come out. Even if France is still occupied, it will be freed in a heartbeat! People are saying it was the largest land sea invasion of all time! Germany was expecting our invasion. Hundreds of thousands were killed yesterday. Machine guns and mines were set up all over the 5 beaches we invaded. Although, in the end, it wasn't the size of the dog in the fight, it was the size of the fight in the dog! Overall the US, USSR, and Great Britain all helped. Now we have France on our side to fight the war!
