I believe herding is a huge benefit of social behavior. It provides safety which is huge in the wild. Also, the young can stay with their parents so they can teach them the ways of the land. Herding also provides food for each other. This way one person isn't risking it's life to hunt overtime. Everyone shares and no one goes hungry. Lastly, traveling together is another huge benefit of herding. You aren't vulnerable and you don't get lost. Herding is a smart idea for your family and friends.
