Jobs in Australia will change and some will be wiped out in little over a decade. Australians planning to stick around in the workforce can plan on writing and communicating more, and carrying out repetitive tasks a lot less, thanks to automation. What do you think? How will it affect you?

I believe that automation is going to cost a lot of people jobs, and that is going to cost our residency and our trades market since no one will want to live in Australia if they can't be promised a permanent job. As much as automation is partially convenient (for example, self-service in supermarkets, it reduces waiting time for customers), it also does cost Australian workers jobs (it allows people to have less of a chance to get a job in supermarkets, which increases our unemployment and underemployment rates). If the Government is so invested in fixing the unemployment rates within Australians and young people in Australia, they would definitely consider the risk factors of introducing automation as well as increasing the job opportunities for young people in and leaving school.
