You have coached and mentored scores of interns whose time with us has taught them compassion, ingenuity and toughness. You found ways to raise money, but also to celebrate every new citizen, and to make every Christmas party special for kids who’ve rarely had a gift. We cannot replace you, but we will continue onward, better for having you with us. You have made a huge mark on Mary's Place. Taking services to a high level of professionalism, becoming an ace grant getter, managing huge amounts of services with just a couple of staff and an ever changing cast of volunteers and students, organizing the heck out of everything you touch and most of all....informing everything and everyone there with your passion for justice for refugees

I’m so glad to hear about your new direction but sorry you’re leaving Mary’s Place. You have poured your heart and soul into this Place and it has grown so beautifully under your leadership. I have always been an admirer of your tenacity, dedication, and compassion. I’ll miss our P&V meetings and having that time with you to work your challenges and innovative solutions, but probably mostly miss hearing you rage against the world’s injustices – where would all of us be without folks that did that?
