As you all know, Expedition Yellowstone is this weekend, Friday, October 10th-Monday, October 13th. 

However, the government shut-down has currently shut-down Expedition Yellowstone as it is run by federal government employees. 

Mr. Wilde has decided that we will make the final call by Wednesday evening. If the government is still shut-down by then, we will not be going on Expedition Yellowstone this weekend. It is possible that we could get rescheduled, but unlikely, as most weekends are filled by other schools. I have attached the packing list just in case the government opens up soon and we are able to go! Also, if we are able to go, reminder that your student needs to be at TRMS on Friday at 7:15am with a packed lunch and all their gear ready to go!

If we do not go, you can get your money back from Ms. Holly. If we go and you still haven't paid your $50, I would wait until Thursday to pay just in case.

One of the greatest strengths of SCSD#1 is the unwavering support our students receive from their families, staff, and loved ones at athletic contests, concerts, a drama performance, and so many other school activities.  Your presence matters and reinforces to our students that their hard work and dedication are valued. For that, I offer my sincere appreciation and thanks.


As our activities and events continue to be well attended, I would like to ask for your partnership in one important area.  We are asking parents, grandparents, and caregivers to please supervise younger children while attending school activities and athletic events.  


This request is rooted in two important priorities: safety and the ability for everyone to fully enjoy the event.  There have been unfortunate incidents in schools across the country where elderly spectators were accidentally knocked over by unsupervised children resulting in serious injuries such as broken hips.  We want to ensure that all who attend our events can do so safely.


In addition, when children are unsupervised during events, it can make it difficult for staff and supervisors to focus on what they are there to do: coordinate the many details that allow activities to run smoothly and safely for our students. 


Thank you for your understanding, your cooperation, and most importantly, your continued support of our students.

  • Either plaid or look like you are going fishing!

  • Rock, Paper, Scissors – School Wide!

    • All staff and students will receive bead necklaces during 1st hour

    • Challenge anyone during non-classroom time (passing periods, lunch, recess)

    • Winners collect necklaces

  • End-of-Day Assembly

    • 3:45 PM: Final 10 showdown in the gym

    • Read Bowl winner announced

We want to provide some incentives for students to work their hardest and put in a great effort on the state assessment in April. This year, we will be doing a raffle-type incentive for students. Students will have opportunities during the testing to earn raffle tickets to put into many different prize boxes. This is a great opportunity for students! They will need to back a sack lunch that day. If they need one, let me know and we can arrange something!

This is an incredible experience for students, but it does cost money. The total cost is $500, but we provide plenty of fundraising opportunities to help students raise the money.


The first opportunity for students is a car wash, bake sale, farmers market combo during AEP week. Last year, this raised hundreds of dollars for students. Not many students signed up, but we would be able to move some things around if you want your student to participate and earn some money towards their trip. Just wanted to let you know about the Summer Camp opportunity we are bringing to BHMS & TRMS this year!

Coach Kaitlyn Zarpentine will be coming to run a camp for both middle schools on August 3-5 at TRMS. She has some impressive playing and coaching credentials, and I'm excited to have her come and work with our athletes!

We applied to the Rec District for funds again, to bring in this outside camp, and they've granted us $150 per kid for up to 30 athletes. This brings the camp cost down to $50 per camper!
