Examples of Implicit Bias

*People are still being punished for "Living while Black": this article demonstrated implicit bias and racism since it talked about how a black man who was picking up trash at his university, had a white police officer approach him and called for backup to detain the man even after he showed his student ID. This shows how the idea that people unconsciously associate the black community with crime and view them as dangerous.
*Study suggest racial inequalities in discipline rates in FCPS: I was really surprised that black applicants were less likely to be hired for teaching jobs in FCPS. This is why such a big majority of teachers in the county are white and lack diversity.
*Bias by reporters in the way they cover Ukraine vs other conflicts: It was shocking to see the excuses many reporters made to defend why they are talking about the Ukrainian war differently than the conflicts happening in the Middle East and North Africa, and sympathizing with greater extent towards them. This is a blatant example of implicit racism as one reporter mentioned that suffering is acceptable for Arabs and Afghans, but not for Europeans.
