It has a good and bad impact because it could either make the tides really good or really bad. It helped the old Hawaiians out a lot because since it told the tides, the Hawaiians would know when to go into the water or not. Moon phases also effect the whole world. But not by itself. It includes the sun. How the moon phases effect the tides is actually its gravitational pull. Same with the sun. If itʻs a new moon, thats when the tides going to be greatest because thats when the sun and moon pull together. The Hawaiians studied this and from their research, they knew the tides just from the moon cycles.
