         <description><![CDATA[<div>By the end of the 2nd trimester (March 10, 2023) Kindergarten students with 6 or more absences (10%) during the first trimester (November 30, 2023) will decrease their total number of absences&nbsp; by 30% from 323 to 226.<br><br>Direct Services Planned: 1.Classroom lesson on attendance and the things that are important about coming to school (academic learning, making friends, playing and having fun) with notes attached to families with information about the lesson.</div><div>2. Track student attendance weekly and give a positive postcard and sticker to kindergarten students who attend every day.</div><div>3. Teach SEL lessons in kindergarten every other week to build a positive relationship with students.</div><div>4. Meet individually with kindergarten students of concern to further strengthen a positive adult connection and assess any possible student perceptions of school attendance&nbsp;<br><br>Indirect Services Planned: 1. Attendance team meetings 2x a month to identify students who fall below 90% attendance and to develop interventions to help students/families with any barriers.</div><div>2. Share information with families about the importance of attendance and the impact of missing more than 10% of the school year on academic performance and other areas of student development.</div><div>3. Make individual phone calls or attend parent/teacher conferences to talk directly to parents about attendance and build a school/family partnership.</div><div>4. Meet with the Kindergarten team to gather their perspective and to collaborate on interventions for students of concern.&nbsp;</div><div>5.
