The only things Larry had accomplished were 100s on all of his assignments. His friend, Eric had encouraged him to go and get her number in class on Wednesday. It was finally Wednesday and Larry’s special day. He knew they had math together and that was going to be his move. When he walked into class he saw the assignment on the board ordered for students to find a partner. Larry knew this was the perfect time to get her number. The bell had rung and everyone had sat with their partners, but Darla did not show up. Larry thought his plan was childish and was the only working alone. It was 15 minutes into the class when she showed up tardy. Their math teacher told her to work with Larry. Once she sat beside them they started to brainstorm about the project. They both noticed that they were not going to finish in class and agreed to meet up later. Darla decides to put her number in Larry’s phone so they can contact each other. He got mad at her for giving him a 60 on an essay he worked really hard on, and he wanted to show her not to mess with him. After this incident he was lucky to only have received 14 days of after school detention. In detention he saw a beautiful girl, he asked his friend Tom what here name was, he said it’s “Darla”. Although Larry was a trouble maker he was a very shy kid, he would get nervous around people he didn’t know. Tom knew Larry liked her but he knew that Larry wouldn’t probably talk to her, so he decided to give him a little pep talk and give him the courage to get up and talk to her. As Larry was walking over towards her his palms started sweating and his heart started beating, halfway there he wanted to back down but Tom was pointing at her and he continued to make his way over there. At first Larry was stuttering a little bit until he realized he was already talking to her so there was no point in worrying about it. Once he calmed down he decided to ask her for her number, he was expecting to get rejected but she said she would give her number to him as long as he would not get in as much trouble as he does. He was so excited that he said that he wouldn’t get in trouble anymore really loud, he got embarrassed by this but he didn’t care because his crush gave him her number.

Larry was the star quarterback of West East high school. It was in the middle of all the other schools and there was only 524 students. The boy to girl ratio was 5:1. Larry wasn’t the smartest guy but he was really good at football. His GPA was a 2.8. He was in an honors math and sat beside Darla. Darla was the valedictorian. Her GPA was 5.0.  He had his eyes on her since 7th grade but she’s always been so much smarter than him. She didn’t talk to many people. She was more interested in keeping her gpa up rather than talking to boys. Larry wanted to get her number and talk her into going to the homecoming dance with him. Dylan was Larrys best friend and he told him that Larry should talk to her. Both of these were a long shoot because they have never really had a conversation. On Wednesday they got partnered together. Was this the day to ask for her number? It was. They finished their project and had extra time so he thought he would get to know her. He asked for her number and she gave it to him. He decided he would give it time before he asked her to homecoming. Larry was bummed out, as was everyone else, but his mood immediately got better when he noticed that both his best friend Rob and his crush were in his first class of the day. The teacher entered the room and began to give everyone their seats, and what do you know, the teacher sits Larry with his friend and his crush. The first day goes by smooth enough, Larry is in his last class (which his crush is also in) and his phone vibrates with a text from Rob, the text reads “I’ve seen the way you been looking at Hayley all day man… You need to do something about that, promise me that Wednesday you’re gonna get that number?”

Larry looks at his phone confused at what Rob meant, but he starts to think about if he had a chance to actually pull it off or not? Larry was tall and fairly okay looking, so he decided that on Wednesday, he was going to shoot his shot and see what she says. Tuesday basically flew by, the day felt like 30 minutes, so he hopped in his car and went home. As soon as he gets in the door, he starts prepping himself. He starts working out, watching “How to get a girlfriend” videos, and finally goes to bed. He wakes up and takes an hour shower, he is going all out, Tons of soap, deodorant, cologne, everything.

Its the first class of the day, and Larry comes in and sits right next to Hayley. She looks at him, he is clearly dressed better than he should be for the third day of school. In one of the smoothest acts he had ever done, he slides his phone over to her and says “Hey, I seem to have lost my number, can I have yours?” His pickup line was so lame, that she actually found it funny and put her number in his phone. Their parents knew something was suspicious about their friendship but they didn’t mind it.  Larry was going to go face to face to her when they spent the night together and tell her that he had a huge crush on her. Now they lived in a old fashioned town that still has the rusted gas stations by the corner and mills that people stopped working in from a couple of years ago. Larry never showed his affection to her and he backed out and just talked to her for that night. A couple months roll by and school started and he sees Darla everyday and hears her sweet soft voice through the hallways and he is is regretting not telling her how he felt. One of Larry’s old time friend  David that hanged out with Darla started talking to Larry about the situation because he knew he felt some type of way. David said “look man if you really do like her just give her your number to start talking about it to her.” Now Larry was the procrastinator and he had to take his time because he wanted to make the best moment possible to ask her out. Larry said to himself “ I know Wednesday is the big game and I should do it then.” So it was a date, Larry took Darla took the the big basketball game and he was nervous but she looked surprise like she knew something was going to happen and he took the great leap of faith.  Larry was a junior at South West high school. He was involved in football, basketball, and soccer. He was one of the more popular football players. He was the number one running back in the county. He was great when talking to girls, all but one. The girl was named Darla. Darla was a volleyball player and a straight A student. Larry really liked Darla. He was just too shy to  talk to her. His friend told him to just do it and he said he couldn’t because he might get rejected. On a Friday, Darla and Larry were paired up as partners in English class. Therefore they had no choice but to talk to each other. They were talking about what topic to choose for an English project. They had to meet up over the weekend. Larry invited her over to his house to work. She gave him her number so they could texts about the project. He told her she could be there at 5. She showed up at 4:40. She was always early. They started working together on the project and instantly they clicked. Larry felt comfortable with Darla. At about 7:30 he told her he would like to hang out with her again. This time he asked her to a restaurant and a movie for next weekend. She said she would love to go with him and she was really excited about going with him. Larry was never nervous to talk to Darla again. A month later they were dating and Larry talked to Darla like he had been involve with her forever. Darla and Larry ended up getting married seven years later. They went to the same college together and they are now getting ready to start their own family. Larry and Darla plan on naming their Daughter Brave. One day in class, he was talking to his friend Jerry telling him how he had this huge crush on Darla. Jerry convinced him to go talk to her to get her number and that he was never going to have the chance to get her number unless if he stopped being shy. After hours of Jerry convincing him they finally came up with a plan that was going to work perfectly. The plan was in action for Wednesday, which was one day before her birthday. The plan was to tell her happy early birthday and to tell her how beautiful she looked in order to keep the conversation going. It was Wednesday and he was ready for his plan. Larry went inside his homeroom and waited until Darla got to class. She finally came in after 10 minutes of waiting, Larry got up and told her everything that he was going to tell her and by surprise she was happy and amazed that he remembered. She got up and gave him a hug and told him to text her when he got home. The bell rung which meant it was time to transition from lunch to English. He could already see Darla laying the “Romeo and Juliet” book down on her desk which they were reading for class. Larry took a deep breath and slowly walked over to Darla. Darla looked up at Larry and gave him one of her bright toothy smiles. “Hey Larry!” Darla said in her usual happy tone. “H-Hey Darla!” Larry said looking down at his feet. “Is everything okay.” Darla said with a little worry. “Y-yeah, umm I was just wanting to know if maybe you would want to go o-out?” Larry said blushing as red as a tomato. “Yeah! Of course! Here’s my number!” Darla said while scribbling on a piece of paper. She handed the piece of paper to Larry. Larry took the piece of paper and happily set in the seat next to Darla.
