Inquiry/ idea: my main inquiry is how perception affects reality so this one dives deeper into how peoples' perception of me make up who I am to others and maybe myself. So I made hands trying to put me together literally ( I'm  going to try and word that better on my final paper)
Process: This was one of my longest processes ever.
I made a reference photo by editing my hands onto my face. Then drew that, and copied it many times to test out colors and styles. when I was happy with it I cut the parts of the face with hands and taped them down away from the face. I used a light box to transfer  that image on my final paper and traced everything with a marker. after that it was just a lot of layering materials.

Idea: In this pandemic, there have been two sides to every person: rational and irrational, hopeful and desolate, a human and a statistic. I'm the only one not doubled: can you tell which one I am? (Rhetorical question) (Basically they're looking down on the ground at my duplicate)
Processes: I gave their shirts strange and bright designs to show how surreal it is to be alive in a time like this. I took pictures of my cohort and I looking down and compounded them together so that everyone has a duplicate except me. All of this represents an out of body experience and a lack of control.
Notes: I enjoyed the journey of getting here more than the actual piece (and I really like this piece :) ) It was so fun taking pictures with everyone and deciding what it was going to be about. Process: I wanted to draw my brother because I needed variety and also, today it’s becoming common for people to acknowledge that males can care or be insecure about they’re appearances. 
   My brother was difficult to work with because he couldn’t take acting seriously, but after a couple minutes of direction and encouragement, we got my reference photo. The angle of the photo was intentional in order for me to capture his reflection in which he is judging his appearance.

Inquiry & Idea: My inquiry is "how was the Earth created?" Though the  piece is a bit more broad than just the Earth, I feel that this still shows the idea: The universe is just one big chemical reaction, and the Earth is an itty bitty part of it.

Process: Once I had my idea for this piece, I knew how to represent it, though my idea for the colors of the galaxy were almost a last minute decision. That said, there's a lot of space outside of the direct representation, and I'm still having a bit of a hard time filling it. I'm not even sure if I should fill it. It's also easy to notice that the re are a few awkward bits in this picture, like colored pencil having escaped the lines, or the tube that leads into the bottle. Process: I did a lot of research about the Maori people (New Zealand) and compiled information about them. Then I used a reference photo of my sister to get the proportions and angel correct. I have only the first few layers done because I got art burn out from Adv. Design so she's struggling. However, I think using the acrylic will make the piece really rich in color and I think it'll look cool

I also think you should sprinkle some stars and give the bottle a bit of a shine- either with white gel pen, white paint, or if you did this again you could block out some areas for the highlights and stars. 2. I think this piece is beautiful and thought provoking. But, I think that the squiggles and scratches in the background look like just that- a background. I think that showing them coming out of the brain might showcase that you're experiencing it, instead of just merging with the background (which might be the purpose, if so ignore this). I agree about the raw look of the lack of pencil shading- but I think that you should blend it all and then do another layer and leave it alone without blending- giving you that base layer but also that texture on top of it (I'm not a huge fan of leaving the white of the paper/canvas, so i may be biased). I see you're using hatching to give the arms at the bottom shadows. If or when you add color to the sweater, you could darken those hatched shadows with a darker shade of the final color of the sweater so the depth won't get lost.

But there is plenty of room for possibility and expansion. 2.) Maybe you could add more test tubes with liquid space and boxes of rocks. It'll fill up negative space and pull together the planet creation station.
