I mostly faced troubles when constructing my design. I made the mistake of glueing every side instead of doing it one at a time, because of that I had glue all over my table when trying to stick it together and I had to clean up a huge sticky mess.
I would remove certain details like the tie and the collar of the character so I could use 3D materials to replace it because my character has very little 3D.
I overall enjoyed making my character and especially the colouring because it came out way better than expected.

The characters I chose to merge were Omen and Skye from the first-person shooter game VALORANT.

Firstly, I chose Omen as my character because he represents the introvert in me since he resides in the shadows and rarely socialises. Secondly, I chose Skye as my character because she represents my friendliness to others. She is very cheerful and loves nature, similar to me as well.

I faced quite a lot of challenges such as colouring well, gluing my character together and making the accessories.

I think I would improve the colouring as there are white spots visible. I would also add more accessories if I had more ideas at the time I was making them.

Overall, this project was very fun and enjoyable and I would definitely try it out again if I had the chance to. I faced some challenges when creating this piece as I had to trace out the words on the shirt and colour very carefully to ensure a better result. However I spent too much time on the shirt making me unable to make quality accessories and the accessories I intended to make. In the end, I improvised hands and a Katana(japanese sword) into the character and not my original kanji(japanese characters) symbols. But I still really liked my end result as I felt that the time spent on it was worth it.
Overall, I would highly suggest this same art project for the secondary ones next year.

The Medic’s coat was used as his coat that goes over a cloak, inspired by Mortimer’s cloak and he wears headwear very similar to Djmmmi’s turban.
It represents me as a combination of my interests. Firstly, he’s purposely stylised to be very cartoony, which is a nod to my love for drawing cartoons. The character himself is also heavily based on several game characters, which refers to my love for video games, specifically Cuphead and Team Fortress 2. Lastly, most of the characters I based him off have a connection to magic or possess magical abilities, which is because I’m quite fascinated with the concept of magic myself.
I faced many challenges, such as designing the character being tough, and colouring such a complex design. My biggest challenge was when I contracted Covid and missed several days where my classmates completed their designs. It was tough having to catch up with my classmates’ week’s worth of work with very little art lessons and a nearing deadline.
I would improve my colouring, which I feel is flat due to the lack of shading. I’d also add additional accessories, which I actually originally planned to but couldn’t due to time constraints, in the end I settled for just a gemstone on his turban.
Yes, I sincerely enjoyed it. The freedom to pick my won style and not have to stick to realism was a blessing and it was very enjoyable and fun making my character, seeing it come to life in front my eyes was also very rewarding.

The making of the figure was hard as I had to wait a long time for the glues to dry and I might try to add less glue in the future to avoid such a mishap.
