Modern day Germany was divided amongst hundreds of states. These Sates were somewhat united in the holy Roman empire. Austria was the most powerful state in the holy empire. But during the reformation their control over the German states diminished. Prussia became a kingdom expanded its power and became dormant power in Europe.

In 1810, the premier hunter was set up in Argentina after France had invaded Spain. Some hunters did not support the conservative. They were more radical and called for more rights and a constitution. Although they were still loyal to the king of Spain, a small Council of Regency still tried to assert their authority over the colonies. In late October, they Nieto defeated the hunters forces but the hunters army of the North resaved reinforcement's and crushed the royalist.

The British helped the Portuguese royal family escape Europe and set up court in Brazil. But after the walls had finished King John did not return to Portugal. This was because he thought his presence in Brazil stopped any independence movements. Brazil was then raise to an equal partner in the Empire forming the United Kingdom

On March 9, 1812, Balcarce’s got defeated in Upper Peru and Jose de San Martin landed in Buenos Aires. George Canning, a British naval vessel, had given him passage. ( a small demonstration of British encouragement of independence). He had fought for Spain against Napoleon, an experience that earned him the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel when, on arrival in Buenos Aires, he joined the revolutionary army. A successful early action against Spanish shipping on the River Plate was enough to give him promotion and prestige. Both of which he added by helping to foment a peaceful coup against the incumbent government, an unelected body whose dictatorial style had already alienated the public.

The Germany Empire was founded on January 18, 1871. Otto von Bismarck designed a constitution. The empire was under this constitution in 1871. William I was the emperor and king of Prussia around 1870's to 88. Between 1870 and 1890 Bismarck earned the respect if European leaders for his pacific polices.

Brazil entered nationhood with less bloodshed than the other Spanish-speaking nations of the New World. However, the transition was not all that peaceful. Jose Joaquim da Silva Xavier encouraged the firs rebellion against the Portuguese who defeated his forces, executed him, and unwittingly made him a national hero in his suffering. In January 1822 he formed a ministry headed by Jose Bonifacio de Andrade e Siva, a distinguished Paulista scholar later known as the Patriarch of Independence because he proved a tower of strength to the young regent during the first uncertain months of independence.
