I also wanted to recommend two of my personal favorite true crime content creators, Kendall Rae and Sarah Turney. Kendall is always partnering with organizations such as the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children to raise money from her YouTube videos and merchandise sales for their causes. She also creates content with the families of victims and has an always-open email where families are able to get in touch with her and utilize her platform to raise awareness for their lost loved ones. Kendall puts a huge emphasis on being an active listener of true crime and doing your part as someone who consumes this type of content to help the victims and their families. Sarah Turney is the younger sister of Alissa Turney and has turned the loss of her sister into a powerful motivator to seek justice on her podcast, Voices For Justice. As a family member of someone who has a very popular true crime case, she understands how true crime content can affect the survivors and family members. She also understands the desperation and need for justice, which is always her goal with her content. Sarah regularly boosts new cases and cases that don’t get enough limelight. Publicity is what gets these cases solved a majority of the time and Sarah understands this first hand. Both of these women do the research and the work to be active creators in the true crime community.
