I'm optimistic enough to have lofty goals and aspire to reach them but I'm pessimistic enough not to  get my hopes up and accurately predict outcomes.<br>4. I guess it could be determined in childhood, but I don't think my outlook was determined in childhood. I used to be really optimistic, but as I've gotten older I have become pessimistic about things.<br>5. I am definitely a realist and I think I have already found a great balance between the two.          <title>1. Positive psychology allows people to flourish and live their best life possible. When you show gratitude the level of happiness you feel increases. 
2. Positive psychology essentially lets you find the things you need in order to be happier over all and have more satisfaction with yourself and you life. 
3. I personally share an optimistic and pessimistic side. I like to push myself to be happy and feel good about my life and myself, however when something goes wrong for me, it is really hard for me to see the bright side of things in that moment. 
4. I don&#39;t believe my outlook on life was determined during my childhood, simply because through the course of the past few years I have increased my optimistic side, but can still be more pessimistic when it comes to problems. 
5. I believe that I am more internal and my test confirms this. I tend to push myself internally to keep doing better and being a better version of myself. I also never give myself enough credit for all of my accomplishments. </title>

         <title>1. We could all use positive psychology in our lives by motivating ourselves towards self-actualization via the assimilation/construction of meaning within our psyches, thus allowing us to function as proactively as we possibly can. 
2. Positive psychology is beneficial to our lives because without a sense of purpose, we cannot exist as entities which utilize the maximum possible amount of functionality, as we would merely exist as either nihilistic or hedonistic entities drifting throughout life in the most unproductive and morally void manners of being. 
3. I would state that I live a rather optimistic life, as my philosophical system compels me to view man as a rational creature, as people&#39;s egoism as the turnkey for the majority of positive change, and I honestly believe that any being, with enough work, can realize what we lovingly call &quot;The American Dream,&quot; in spite of growing wealth inequality to name a few examples of my general outlook. 
4. I disagree with the premise that one&#39;s general outlook on life is strictly formed by one&#39;s childhood, as I&#39;ve grown out of my idealistic pessimism to inhabit a state of realistic optimism, which is indicative of a wide margin of change from where I once was in my childhood. 
5. In order to create a balance between the two, one must adopt a broad scope of overview and knowledge on human history to understand general trends which are analogous to markets, wherein goodness and badness exist in constant flux with each other and in the end they tend to balance each other out. This outlook demands pessimism in times of decline and optimism in times of increases. 
6. I felt as though the piece presented to us for this question applies partly to my life, the applicable components being the first-person portraits. I found this piece to drastically overvalue the third-person portraits with respect to my personal experience, as I value the ideal and realistic versions others possess of me to be rather trivial and irrelevant, the exception being the offering up of legitimate criticisms which further develop my quest to match the  first-person ideal. 
7. I would definitely consider my locus of control to be internal, as I strongly emphasize the role free will, which I routinely affirm either through axiomatic presuppositions or through relevantly tied argumentation, within the moral landscape perpetuated by those entities possessing the relevant abilities indicative of sentience, and the impact such a characteristic has on the lives of all of us. 
8. The test determined I possessed a 96% strong internal locus of control. 
9. I absolutely agree with this assessment for reasons which have been outlined in previous questions. </title>

Positive psychology <br>    - I can use positive psychology in my life because it could change my attitude by helping me focus more on the good, than the bad.<br>2. Optimism and pessimism<br>    - Definitely live a pessimistic lifestyle, even with good things in my life, I tend to complain about almost everything<br>    - I guess it has something to do with childhood or whatever, more to do with nurture than nurture. But I also think that because sucky things happen in my life currently doesn't help. If better things happened more than bad things right now, I'd be optimistic.<br>    - I don't think there can be a balance between the two, because you're gonna be more of one, than you are of the other. It's just a matter of your current situations than anything. But making some changes would benefit to change you being happier, rather than keep being sad or angry or whatever.<br>3. Self-consciousness<br>    - I'm not super self-consciousness, I guess I sometimes wonder what others think of me, like at work. Do my managers think I'm a good worker, and how do customers think of me. Things like that. But I don't think of other things. I'll joke around and be like "oh my god, I'm literally so ugly". But I don't believe it. I know I'm not ugly. I'm fine with who I am. So I don't really have an ideal version of myself. And others can want me to be whatever they want, but I'm not gonna do something unless I want to do it.<br>4. Locus control<br>    - I don't even know what it means honestly<br>    - They put me as 56, so I have a mixed attribution style thing. So half of the time I attribute my success to my skills, intelligence, and whatever. The other half I attribute it to chance, luck, and others' help<br>    - I agree. Like I feel like circumstance really helps, so being at the right place at the right time. Or the wrong place at the wrong time. But I know that I also am smart enough and have enough skills to do certain things.<br><br></div>]]></description>

Optimism and Pessimism
1. I would say I am more optimistic but I still sometimes have my bouts of pessimism, especially after a series of not so good grades, but I believe that people are inherently good
2. I had a pretty stable childhood and that is said to increase the likelihood of someone being optimistic, I think that it doesn&#39;t solely depend on your childhood, but it does play a part in the way you view life

Balancing Optimism and Pessimism

2. I do believe that part of how we look at life can be based on what happened in our childhood. Some things that could have caused me to think like this from my childhood could be my dad being in the army, and being away from us, and my parents getting divorced.

         <title>I would say I live an optimistic life because I see the bright side of things. I may get pessimistic sometimes but I try to overcome it.
I personally think it could be something determined during childhood. The memories of my childhood my increase in being a optimistic or pessimistic. For example if I had happy memories from my childhood, remembering that might help overcome any pessimistic feelings I have. I think creating a balance is something needed. I believe I can create a balance by just looking at life in a neutral way and not dwelling
 on things that will make me pessimistic and such.</title>
