My first experience with this book was interesting, as I have never really read a book of this genre before. But I did in fact enjoy reading it.

In "The Mysterious Island" by Jules Verne, I learned that the story is about a group of people who become stranded on a remote island after escaping from a Confederate prison during the American Civil War. They must work together to survive and unravel the mysteries of the island.

I'm wondering about the specific challenges and adventures the characters will face on the island, as well as any hidden secrets or discoveries they might make.

I read up to page 47 of "The Mysterious Island" by Jules Verne.

On days when I have 10 minutes to read, my daily reading goal would typically be around 5-10 pages to make steady progress through the book.

1. Since my last post, the character in my story have settled in to their new home/environment, having built and found suitable sources of food, water, and other necessities for their survival on the island.
2. Since my last post, I have become increasingly more interested in the book. Especially given the fact that the events in the book could technically actually happen in the real world.
3. While reading I have noticed that I become more focused on the story than the world around me. And at some point I zone out, imagining what would happen to me in the situations in the story.
4. I would personally like to finish the book by the end of the 2nd or 3rd marking period.

11/13 The Mysterious Island

By this time, I have almost finished reading my book entirely. Here are something that have happened in my book.

The volcano at the center of the island has begun to release smoke into the air.
A crew of convicts has invaded the island.
One member of the group has disappeared, and another has been wounded.

There are multiple main characters in this story. The most important of them being Cyrus Harding. 2 traits to describe Jim’s would be…

Stubborn: he refuses to ever give up on his goals or ideals.
Creative: using his knowledge, he is capable of finding a solution to most situations that he and his companions find themselves in.

As of today, I have finally finished reading my book. Some thing I liked about it is the amount of detail put into describing the scenes. While it was extensive, it allows your brain to make a detailed image of what’s happening in the story. 5e one thing I didn’t like about the story gaps in the timeline of the story. Between chapters, a few days, weeks, or even months have passed in the story. It was a little inconsistent. If I were to rate the story I would rate it a solid 8 out of 10, just because the stories events were inconsistent. I would greatly recommend this story to people who are into science fiction and other such genres. This is the type of story that would excite someone since almost everything in the story is realistically possible.
