The French government is not that different than the American government. The president of France is Emmanuel Macron. He was just recently elected in may 2017. Presidents serve for a 5 year term, and is allowed to serve for another term. The Prime Minister's name is Bernard Cazeneuve. The president of France gets to choose the Prime Minister during the National Assembly. The Prime Minister of France is the head of the Council of Ministers, which makes him the head of the state. The political parties have to have an equal amount of men and women. There can be no more than a 2 percent difference in the women and men in the political parties. The senate is the one that makes the amount of men and women equal.

The Judicial Branch has the Supreme Court of Appeals, Constitutional council and the Council of State. In the constitutional council there are nine different leaders. Three are by the president, three by the president of the national assembly, and the president of the senate has three. The senate has 348 members that serve a six year term. The national assembly has 577 members that serve for a 5 year term. There is a law that says you can not wear your religious symbols in public areas. Even though civil rights are appreciated in France. There are lots of Muslims and human rights organizations that say that this law is very unfair.

The people in France have a good economy. They have a large industrial economy that allows people to enjoy the good things you get from it. The former president cut the public on spending and taxes for businesses to see if more people are getting jobs around France, but that didn’t work well. By 2012 a little bit over 24 percent of the younger generations had jobs. 9.9 percent of France is unemployed. But the amount of unemployed people is affecting France. Inflation means that prices of food, gas and more is rising. Inflation is not good because food is becoming a lot more expensive, and the gas is harder to pay for which can make people poor, and they won't be able to pay for things. In France, the inflation is low, which is a good thing. They find the average household income by dividing the amount of people in the country by dividing the total amount of money in the country. The average amount is $41,200 in France each year.

They grow different foods such as wine, milk, butter, cheese, barley and wheat. Some big industries are motor vehicles, aircraft, chemicals, and food processing. Steel and textile industries used to be really popular, but now it is a lot less popular. Some exports can be machinery and other transportation equipment, steel products, and other different types of agricultural goods. More than half of France's energy is made from nuclear power plants. 75 percent of the people in France work in the service sector.

Protests and money issues were and still are big in France. Students and workers protested about strict and hard educational systems and very bad working conditions. The protest lead the law to make minimum wage higher, and the protest made a large effect on France in 1968. The new generations were still thinking about the protest from 1968, so in the 1990’s students would protest the conditions in public schools, and they also changed the wage laws. The western countries in Europe decided to make their money all the same so that not each country has different types of money, so when people are traveling you can use one type of money instead of having to convert it all the time. Frances companies were struggling to pay for workers which affected Frances people a lot. Some people are making a lot less money, or getting fired because the business can’t pay for them. So because of that France put 40 billion euros into the economy then decided to save 45 billion euros by cutting the spending. Francois Hollande because the first socialist, believing that everyone should be on the same level of wealth. He was the field socialist to take office in 23 years, on may 2012. There was a lot of people in France that believed in socialism, who helped him, and supported him. He wanted to stop spending and start saving, and raised the taxes to the corporations. He wasn't helping businesses get enough money. Instead he was taxing them.

Most of France is Christian. More than 60 percent of France is christian, mainly roman Catholic. Half of the Christians in France have religious weddings, and lots of them baptize their children. Religious ceremonies have made people who are a lot less religious, get mad and angry. They sometimes even protest. There are a lot of other religions in France like Islam. Between 7-9 persent of France practices Islam, which makes it the second largest popular religion in France. And a lot of younger generations are practicing islam. Only a little less than France is Jewish, and less than one percent is Buddhist, and only about twenty five percent of France says that they don't have practice any religion (known as atheists). It is not a fully enforced law, but you are not allowed to wear your religious symbols out in public spaces. Religion cannot influence politics, and politics cannot influence religion.
