         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><mark>The following can be completed as a video but preferably assessed as part of the workplace assessment in Terms 2/3 <br></mark></strong><br><strong><em><mark>Demonstration 1: Prepare for Anaesthetic and the procedure</mark></em></strong><br>(this must be done in clinic - can be done in workplace assessment or you can video).&nbsp;</div><ul><li>Prepare equipment for induction (iv, tubes, drugs etc)</li><li>Setup theatre - lights, heat, positioning equipment, monitoring devices etc</li><li>Prepare required PPE - gowns, gloves mask etc</li></ul><div><br></div><div><strong><em><mark>Demonstration 3: Handle and restrain patient for pre-op</mark></em></strong></div><ul><li>Handling/restrain animal for prep check/perform and record the prep check. (see skills for things to be recorded)</li><li><em><mark>3.3 - calculate drug dosages - at TAFE assessment</mark></em></li><li>Give or assist with premed and induction</li></ul><div><br><strong><em><mark>Demonstration 4:&nbsp; Induce anaesthesia</mark></em></strong></div><ul><li>Assist in induction/entubation/positioning/connecting to circuit/stabilise/chart vitals and reflexes.&nbsp;</li><li>Stablising the patient - ensuring animal is okay for surgery to commence</li></ul><div><br></div><div><br></div>]]></description>

See skills assessment for standard required.&nbsp;</li></ul><div><br><strong><em><mark>Demonstration 6:&nbsp; Monitor post operatively</mark></em></strong></div><ul><li>Recover the patient from GA- position/extubate/continue to monitor until patient recumbent</li><li>Administer analgesia and record post op period- document any pain relief and assess pain score value in initial post operative period.&nbsp;</li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><em>This assessment is a CASE REPORT of an anaesthetic that you have been involved with from induction to recovery. <br></em></strong><br>You need to submit: <br><mark>Photo or video of</mark></div><ul><li>anaesthetic machine</li><li>the 3x selected ET tubes</li><li>the patient</li><li>the theatre set up before and during</li><li>all drugs used&nbsp;</li><li>restraint of the patient for induction - ie you holding the animal.&nbsp;<ul><li>A COPY OF THE COMPLETED RECORD -link to document is in the project.&nbsp;</li></ul></li></ul><div>Then you need to submit the completed questions that are attached to the project document.
