DESCRIPTION OF OUR HIGH SCHOOL

Welcome to Carmen Laffon High School.

Our high school is 34 years old and has got around 850 students.
 We have got a very big building.

There are many differents classrooms like: library, technology club…

There are 3 head teachers, and 74 teachers. 

In front of the entrance there are a concierge .

Right there are the sports hall.

We do PE twice a week . It’s a great place.

In front of the sports hall there are the language classroom, library and tecnology classroom.

Right to the library there is the canteen here sell food.

TATTERS
This dish is characterized by its exquisite taste despite the humility of its ingredients.
  It is mainly consumed in winter and consists of fine fried flour cakes that are incorporated in a tomato sauce onion, garlic, red pepper, potatoes and, optionally, cod, rabbit or hare. The dish is flavored with a sprig of mint.

GUILINDORRO

This simple but delicious rabbit stew is made with a bread crust and fried garlic and is flavored with oregano and vinegar.

COD TO BAEZA STYLE

As an inland area, fish is not a very frequent ingredient in the traditional cuisine of Jaen, however, around dry cod have originated numerous and excellent recipes. Cod to Baezana is a very popular recipe that surprises everyone who tastes it by including among its ingredients pine nuts, red peppers and peas.


Monuments
The most outstanding monuments of the city of Jaen are the cathedral and the castle of Santa Catalina, but there are many others worth seeing. Of course, the visit to the castle will compensate you with the wonderful views of the city and the surroundings, as it is located on a rocky hill.

Climate
The climate in the province of Jaen is of continental Mediterranean type and influenced by the Guadalquivir Valley, which, open to the Atlantic Ocean, conditions the atmospheric circulation of the province. Throughout the year the temperature oscillation in the same day can reach 20º. The maximum average temperature is 22.1º and the minimum temperature is 11.8º.

Was a well-known Spanish poet. Born in Jaen on November 11, 1838 and died in Madrid on November 15, 1870.


CUBE SAVIOR
He was a famous sculptor who was born in Jaen in the 16th century. His most important work is the Holy Christ of the Clemency of the brotherhood of '' the Magdalena ''.

What to do there

You can go to the ruins of Castulo, you can go to se the birth of the river Guadalquivir in the mountain range of Cazorla, you can go to the mines of centenillo y linares and you can go to the natural park of despeñaperros.

There are about 74 teachers, 60 classrooms and 920 students.

Enter in the high school and opposite the entrance there is the porter's lodge that is between two corridors. If you cross them, you'll see the library next to the years 12-13 classes (clases de bachillerato). Returning to the hall use the stairs to go to the first plant. Going past the library, you'll near the playground and a big ramp to guide you that there are more years 12-13 classrooms. Cross all the corridor and take the first turing on right to go to the teachers room. Returning again to the hall, take the widest and longer corridor to go to the gym and yards on left. (gym downstairs. yards upstairs). At the end of the corridor, there are the playground and 2º and 4º ESO classes, and finally, go upstairs through the stairs to go to another entrance to the yards and 1º and 3º classrooms.

I will describe IES Carmen Laffon. 
My high school has 48 classes, 74 teachers and 920 students.
It has two floor. On the first floor there is a concierge and on your left  is the elevator and the director`s office. In front is a hallway to the library. On the top floor are the high school classrooms and the teachers' room.
If we return to the entrance on the right are the stairs and the gym. In the background there is a long hallway in which are the classes of ESO and classrooms such as computer, technology, ... 
The gym is big and has a store for the materials and showers. We see a few steps in the top.
The playground is very big. There is a coffe and two courts, one of basketball and another one of football.

Its capital is Córdoba.
History
From the Palaeolithic period, the province of Cordoba has been marked by the imprint of man. Tartessians and oretani competed for the possession of these lands and the exploitation of its iron, lead and copper mines.
The Romans conquered it fascinated by the beauty of its landscape and the fertility of its Valley. Of his presence countless buildings that run through the province testify. After the Muslim expansion across the Iberian peninsula, the territory of the Al - Andalus from Cordoba stands in the main focus of economic and cultural irradiation of medieval Europe.
Landscape
Cordoba lands extend between olive groves and vineyards bathed of the river Guadalquivir.
The weather is Mediterranean continental. The winters are mild with a half of 9.5 ° without many rain. Summers are very hot with 40º of day and 18º at night.
What to do in Cordoba
If you go to Cordoba you can`t go without seeing the Mosque. It´s the most important monument of all the Islamic West. It is a place that has been dedicated to the worship of different deities. There was a primitive Mosque used by Christian and Muslim, passing to be acquired fully by Abd ar-Rahman I and destroyed for the final construction of the first Mosque Alhama.
The great Mosque consists of two distinct areas, the courtyard or portico sahn, where stands the Minaret and the haram or prayer room. The interior space is available on a concert of columns and arches bicoloured great chromatic effect. There are five areas in which divides the enclosure, each one corresponding to the various extensions carried out.
The Roman bridge along with the mosque is one of the sites most visited by tourists since they are very near. This bridge was erected in the first century with changes for history. Consists of 16 arches, signed up 4 and the rest of half a point, in the Center is the figure of San Rafael, work of the 16th century by Barnabas Gómez del Río.
Another place to visit is the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos. It is a rectangular construction with extensive walls and four towers: the Los Leones, the tribute, the of the Inquisition and of Las Palomas. Inside there are patios with beautiful flowers and trees. There are rooms with mosaics, sarcophagi galleries...
Gastronomy
Cordoba, typical cuisine from the hinterlands, uses the products of hunting, livestock and the rich production of vegetables from their gardens.
Olive oil and excellent wines of the countryside, are the indispensable complement of this succulent cuisine. The traveler can taste the casseroles of beans, the scrambled asparagus, the cochifrito, the lamb stew, migas serranas and stew of oxtail, whose main ingredient comes from the Bull.
Famous
Juan de Mesa and Velasco (1583-1627). Sculptor. In 1606 he moved to Seville and entered the workshop of Juan Montañés. A famous sculptor is from his first work, the image of Saint Joseph with the child (1615) to the Virgen de las Angustias (1627), with numerous works for Semana Santa, the most to Cordoba and Seville.
Luis de Góngora (1561-1627). He is a writer who studied at the University of Salamanca, and in 1585 became Canon of the Cathedral of Codroba by writing satirical verses, also composed numerous sonnets, romances, looking for musicians for his poems. Some of his works most famous are: La Galatea, loneliness and doctor Carlino.
India Martinez (13/10/1985 -) singer. at age 5 he began in flamenco dance moving to the eleven with his family to Roquetas de Mar. The Fundación Cristina Heeren grants him a scholarship to study Flamenco in Seville and in 2003 published his first album, polka dot tiles. Splendid voice that is born from the fusion of flamenco and pop in October 2012, publishes his "Otras verdades" album after the success of his previous 'Trece verdades' with that got to be gold record.

The name of the school is due to a painter and sculptress who was born in Seville, was called Carmen Laffon Escosura.
The school has ground floor and hight floor. When we enter, you can see the resepcion. If we go to the right we will find the gym. Then there are the stairs, the bathrooms and the classes of the groups of 2"ESO  , 4''ESO and 1''Bachillerato.
In front of the stairs we have the playground, with zones for the sport.
On the ground floor we have the cafeteria, the library, computer room and a mini park. There are also the departments of teachers. In the upper floor are the rest of the classes including the teachers room.
There are a total of 74 teachers, 60 classes and 920 students.

FEDERICO GARCÍA LORCA: Universal Poet and Playwright.
I have been in Granada with my parents and I have known the Alhambra and the most important neightborhoods, but I was smaller.
It seems to me a magic city and I would like to visit it again.

It is very big. There are about 90 teachers, 900 pupils and 33 classrooms.
When you enter, you find a big hall with the information desk, and behind, an inner yard. 
If you turn on the left side, you find the offices:director, subdirector...
If you continued on the raid again, you find the library. From the hall you turn on the ride side,you find the gym and if you continued you find the classrooms, and a door to the playground, and there a canteen where you canbuy your breakfast.
You can go a upstairs and there are more classrooms.

Seville is the capital of Andalusia and one of the most important cities of this autonomous community.

Seville has a great gastronomy and we can find dishes as rich as these:

Gazpacho: which is a kind of tomato soup cold.

Fish fruing: fish stocks passed by the fryer.

Seville also has a singular and incomparable architecture, some of its monuments are:

Giralda: it is located in the center of seville, to which many tourist come, it is a very impressive monument.

The taver of gold: it’s on the colon tour and at dusk its bricks glow looking lique gold.

Seville is a city of traditions, that is why from generation of generation has passed this typical dance that is often danced much in the festivals of this places: The Sevillanas.

This dance is accompanied by a typical costume that women and men wear to give more arte to the dance: women wear a flamenco dress and men a short dress.

The climate of Seville s Mediterranean with dry summers and mild winters.

Bartolomé Esteban Murillo was one of the first painters more recognieed in Seville was barn in the year 1617 and died 1682. This pinter formed the first Seville painting school his own style of painting.

Seville is characteristic by its holidays because they unparalleled and very fun.

Faster: a party for the most religious of the city his holydays is cedicated to the bible.

Fair: this party has been modified by the cities  and is usually one of the most remonbered.
