We chose our groups and came up with a total of 4 questions that would benefit us for the thoughts of the target audience. However when going out to do this task, we had asked people poilety to answer a few questions and the people we did ask all refused to help us as they thought we were from the actual media. This meant researching deal into the music industry and finding a song from this time zone that would be controversial and political. i didn't manage to find any music videos so this time wasn't helpful to me personally. However during this class time our tutor was showing us a bunch of different music videos from across the 50's to the 2000's, showing us songs that were controversial and political. This was so that we got an idea of what we were looking for when it came to individual research. This required an idea for our music video with a song from the 50's - 90's. The idea of this was to vote for an idea that we had liked hearing about and to choose people we wished to work with whilst choosing the idea we liked. When it came to coming up with an idea for me personally didn't really work out very much because I'm not personally the type of person to lead others in a team as i lack confidence in this area. This meant i didn't have a strong idea because in reality i didn't really have one. This is something i have always lacked on because I'm not a confident person to not only come up with an idea and present it with a hope of people choosing it, but to not present and speak in front of a class filled with people i wasn't familiar with or had no interaction with. I have always been a very shy person and this clearly effected the presentation. I am a very creative person usually but given a song from this genre was difficult because this was an era of time i wasn't comfortable stepping into or familiar with in itself. When coming up with the idea i did a lot of research into different lyrics with different songs and usually when i look at lyrics i can get an idea of what i would wish to do but i just lacked this and i think it was something to do with the time of decade it was. We also found out the people we would be working with. For me This wasn't to bad because i didn't mind who i worked with, who's idea i was doing.  However i was really disappointed with my role because i didn't put this down as a role i wanted to do. However i got on with the role because this was the only role i could do because i had been chosen to do this. At first with this role people in my group didn't see the importance with it especially when it came to going out to film because its not a major role such as the directors role, camera, producer and editor as a PR had no involvement within the final footage or the process of filming. Now in this lesson i got on with doing the different types of font for our logo and playing around with different types and styles of font. As a PR i was in charge with doing the logo, poster, album cover, Poster and social media for our group. When playing with the different fonts i used a website called 'Font Squirrel'. This gave me a chance to play with the different types and styles of fonts and experiment with them to create a final outcome of our font. I also looked at different ideas with symbols to include for my logo, however when i did this i looked at so many different types but i got an idea of what i wanted to do straight away. I had a rough idea of what i wanted to do before even looking as i really did design so many different logos before actually making it. After looking i finally came up with a final design and font for our group. I stayed behind after college had finished and everyone in my class and group had left to go home and spent 2 hours on photoshop bringing together the logo for our group. As i don't know photoshop very well because i have never been good at it even when i started doing media 3 years ago i struggled with doing it by myself and figuring out to make my logo come to life. I then asked for help after struggling with it as my friend is good with photoshop as he uses this and illustrator. Now my idea for the logo was to include blocks that looked like rays of sun and the name of our group in the middle of it. What i had done it put the sketch i drew before hand as a template on photoshop and drew the boxes around the sketch. This i found much easier when my friend told me what tools to use and how to use them effectively. The only issue i had was making the top ray and making them equally drawn. I spent an hour just trying to make it equal to the other side without it looking bazar. so i had just copied the layer and made it equal by pasting it the other side. This seemed to work well with me. I then added the effect of it fading towards the middle and at least half the shape to blend it in. I didn't seem to have any problems with this. However when it came to the writing it was difficult because drawing round the letters of the font it didn't match up evenly to my sketch i had until my friend introduced me to another tool in which i could bend the line and move it around to match it more to the sketch. This had worked for me and i was pleased with the outcome, but for next time maybe look at tutorials on how to use photoshop and maybe experiment with it more before trying to come out with a final outcome.]]> 2017-03-15 09:13:51 UTC https://padlet.com/kaylee_colquhou/v9epa47un570/wish/160184243 kaylee_colquhou https://padlet.com/kaylee_colquhou/v9epa47un570/wish/160193475 When doing my logo, my group had been very productive in that they had managed to complete all of the production work previously. This meant we could go out and film either testing, which we considered it to be testing, or actual footage for our final music video. Me, Megan and Jake went out to the old passmores building to test shooting for our music video. We spent about 2 hours out in the field practicing the different types of shots we could come up with, the different types of angles and effects of the camera to come up with some creative shots. When shooting these different types of footage we did have problems and this didn't just include the equipment that we had with us that day. This included when we went to the field we were surrounded by tied up horses., little did we know that one of the horses on this field wasn't tied up to anything so it was a loose horse. This horse did approach us when we were trying to film our test shots and we couldn't film anything for at least 15 minutes because the horse wouldn't leave the camera alone of the luggage we had with us. It was also kicking around the main props we needed. Theres wasn't anything that we could do because it was loose and a wild horse, however this is something i would have done different, maybe check the area before hand, before filming a single bit of footage to be sure there isn't anything stopping us from filming, however we didn't see this coming as a group and it didn't matter to much because it was a test shoot and we were the first group to quickly get on with stuff and as we were ahead of anyone else it wasn't to bad. ]]> 2017-03-15 09:57:56 UTC https://padlet.com/kaylee_colquhou/v9epa47un570/wish/160193475
