My First Medal - September

Back when I was at Sycamore JHS, I had many memories, one was a letter I recieved from Literature class. Curious and excited to find out the surprise, I opened it. Inside is an invitation to a winter award ceremony. My English teacher Mrs. Tice, rewarded me as a result of my effort from the Spelling Bee competition. I showed the letter to my parents back at home, needless to say they were excited. To celebrate, they took me on a shopping spree in search for fancy suits. We ended up spending around $110 for a set of shiny navy-blue tuxedos. The night of the ceremony, we drove to a remote High School. The campus was huge, so we had trouble navigating the entrance to the party. 10 minutes of wandering led us to a spacious gym, to the left are bleachers plenty with students. To the right are high seats, where parents flocked a stairway to. My parents and I parted ways, and I took a seat near the end of the bleachers. Teachers later arrived and sat near the stage. After multiple students got called to receive their award, my turn came. I walked up, and received my award from my English teacher, who was also dressed for the occasion. When every student got called, the ceremony ended, and parents stormed down the stairway, hugging and congratulating their children. My parents took pictures of me in a suit, holding the medal I received. We headed back home tired.

On an average day at Sycamore, I was sitting in my English class. Mrs. Tice was announcing tryouts for the Spelling Bee competition. She gave us an incentive to join, which were 10 Buccy Passes. These were used to trade for items in the School's Shop. Enticed by the incentive, I applied. After my final class ended, I returned to my English class. About 20 applicants awaited in table groups, and I joined a table with familiar faces. After everyone settled down, we were instructed to pull out our Chromebooks to take a Google Form Quiz. When everyone finished, Mrs. Tice announced the winners for the next round. I got accepted (and received 10 Buccy Passes), feeling overjoyed. Everyone walked out of the room, and returned home. I told my parents about my success, they were just as excited as I am. I advanced on to the next round, my dad sporting me on the way. Unfortunately, I failed this time. We returned home dejected.

I applied for Magnolia's CS3 program 2 weeks prior. I went to English class, expecting a normal day. The speakers announced boring news as usual, but I snapped out of my boredom when they mentioned the accepted CS3 applicants. Reagan Khun and Sheila Escabosa were called. Everyone congratulated me for the success. The next day, I stopped by my math class, of which I had Mrs. Carlson for. She heard the news yesterday and wrote me a note, cheering me on for my path to Magnolia HS. I felt happy, since she was a few of my favorite teachers in Sycamore. The day went on, and I returned home, with a special memory I'll hold for a long time.

It was a unique day at Magnolia HS. I felt ill, thinking it was just a cold. The next day, my symptoms got worse. After school, I went home, and took a testing kit for COVID-19. 5 minutes later, the result was positive. My parents and I discussed a plan to notify my teachers and the school officials of my 1-week isolation. I continued finishing assignments as usual, when Izaeya showed me a picture in Computer class. Everyone received Cyberpatriot t-shirts and a gold medal. I was excited yet sad, I still felt sick. Regardless, I waited patiently until I recovered. I eventually returned, with a greeting from Alan and my rewards.

Halloween - October 31st

Today is halloween. Most of the class are probably dressed up, including me. (as ghost face) The cold morning air hit my face, it was very refreshing. I felt very tired, and my brain functioned slowly. I walked through the campus, and made a bee-line towards the big tree near my math class. I sat on the stone benches, and played Clash Royale. Nothing better to wake your brain than great games. I had an enjoyable time by myself, when a group of people walked towards me. I thought I'd get mugged, but it's just Alan and Danny. I laughed at Alan and his panda pajamas, but Danny wore his usual clothes. Class started, better hurry.
