Yesterday I read a German newspaper article about the class society in Great Britain.

The article ''Großbritannien. Leben in einer Klassengesellschaft" was published on the internet website www.deutschlandfunk.de.
I would like to inform you about the view of the Germans about the social classes and the class survey of Great Britten.

Germans think it is exaggerated how important the class society is to the British. The class society has a high importance for the British. They can tell from the language of others to which class they belong.

Moreover, the British believe that you can get into a higher class by your own work. You are responsible for which class you belong to

However, most British still don't know what class they are in, so they often simply place themselves in the middle class.

But most of them do not tell the truth about their class. 

One sociologist has said that class society still exists. At that time, class was identified by the job.

Today, you look at the money you own, so a new way to determine the class.

Cultural activities tell a lot about the position in a class. The britten can tell which class people belong to by their cultural activities. People who belong to a higher class want to show this through their lifestyle and leisure time.

The elite class is so high that it is not popular for many to belong to it.

In Great Britain, class society is a very important thing. It is recognized by capital, culture and resources who comes from which class.
