Argumentative writing is when the author takes a side on a debate/particular issue or topic and supports that side with evidence, reasoning, and reasons. For example. There is a debate on who is better at soccer, Messi or Ronaldo. The people on the side who think "Ronaldo" is better might say this: Ronaldo is better because he has more career goals and he is taller. The people who think Messi is better might say this: Messi is better because he is a better dribbler and he is short and fast.
