The book Anansi the spider is a very good book to read. In Anansi the spider Anansi has 6 sons. The names of the sons were See Trouble, Road Builder, River Drinker, Game Skinner, Stone Thrower, and Cushion. One day Anansi went far and got lost and fell into trouble. At home See Trouble noticed father was in trouble. He told the other sons. Road Builder built a road to go to Anansi. The six sons saw that Fish swallowed him. River Drinker drank all the water so Fish couldn't drink. Then Game Skinner split open Fish. More trouble came. Falcon took Anansi in the sky in the sky. Stone Thrower threw and hit Falcon and Anansi fell. Cushion came and saved Anansi before he hit the ground. They are really happy. One night Anansi found a globe of light to give to one of his sons. But who? Anansi called Nyame! (Nyame is the god of all things.) Anansi asked who should give the light to. They could not agree. Then Nyame put the globe in to the sky and said to leave it here. That is where it will stay forever.

Anansi the spider is a wonderful book. Anansi the spider's purpose is to tell the Ashanti, Ghanaian people about how stuff comes to be. One example is how the moon stays in the sky. Another is to depend on others and don't take part in any risky situations. In Anansi the Spider Nyame the god of all things shows that the moon stays in the sky. In this way Nyame is a sky god. Anansi the Spider comes from Western Africa. Anansi the Spider is geared to the Ashanti people because the tale is from them. Ashanti people are located in central Ghana. In most Anansi folktales Anansi is shown as a trickster. In most of those Anansi books Anansi triumphs over larger foes and finds a way every time.
