The daughter  plant survives by finding another plant and then "strangles" it by wrapping around it and sucks out all its nutrients.

Fact: Every plant on Earth is on a constant search for food
Connection: When a plant is being harmed it sends out an SOS, kind of like a silent scream that calls in special predators that can help, kind of like when humans call for help if they need protection. 
Plants are able to quickly adapt to whatever they need too.
