I grew up in Olmsted Township and played soccer, ran track, and received my black belt in 
Tae-Kwon-Do by the age of 11 years old. I graduated from Baldwin Wallace last December with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education for grades K-5. Earlier in the school year, I taught 5th grade at another public school, and I was also a Title I Tutor. Some students favor different learning styles, such as visual, auditory, reading/writing, or kinesthetic (movement) learning. I try to incorporate a little bit of everything, but I mostly consider the student's feedback as to how they learn the best. Your student's education is my top priority. This week, we focused on the key steps in setting up the problem. The three steps that we came up with together include:
1. Making the divisor into a whole number
2.Whatever is done to the divisor must be done to the dividend
3. Pull the decimal point up to the quotient line
4. Ready to solve!

Students picked a sentence with a simile in it and created a trifold with pictures showing the figurative and literal meanings of the sentence. Then they chose a sentence that contained a personification in it and drew a picture to represent the sentence. This week, students will focus on Onomatopoeias and Idioms.
