This song could be interpreted to be a metaphor for how an old relationship has been rekindled, and that both Gatsby and Daisy’s hearts are still ‘beating in time’ with one another. The suggestion that ‘there will soon be a honeymoon’ implies that that their meeting was the start of something ign the two.

Sung by a group of little girls in Central Park, Nick and Jordan pass the children after their date at the Plaza Hotel. Jordan has just told Nick about the first time she witnessed Daisy and Jay Gatsby together. She describes a scene of Daisy and Gatsby together at Daisy’s home in Louisiana, and later, of the night before Daisy and Tom’s wedding day. After Jordan describes this memory to Nick, the little girls singing the song are heard; “I’m the Sheik of Araby, Your love belongs to me, At night when you’re asleep, Into your tent I’ll creep-”.

The song is a passing metaphor for Gatsby's feelings for Daisy, and his inability to let her go after she is married and he hasn't seen her for years. Gatsby believes that Daisy's love "belongs to him". As he has become independently wealthy, he believes that he can make her love him again through his reputation and through his money,"At night while you're asleep." This is an attempt to insert himself into her life -- "Into your tent i'll creep" is a representaion of their emotional outbursts and Tom's suspicions.

These lyrics talk about enjoying life and represents the pleasure seeking lifestyle seen in the novel. "The rich get richer" could imply that Gatsby is getting richer in emotions now that he has been reunited with Daisy. "The poor get children" could imply that Daisy is poor emotionally in her marriage with Tom, in which Daisy has a daughter with Tom

To some the music included in The Great Gatsby may seem irrelevant and placed only to add context to the scene. In reality the music Ftizgerald used in his novel not only captures the time period of the novel but they supports the mood, tone, and actions of the characters. Three songs Fitzgerald utilized in the novel are Three O'colck in the Morning, Ain't we got fun and The Sheik of Araby.

Genre - Folk Ballad
"I won't give up on us
even if the skies get rough
i'm giving you all my love
i'm still looking up
And when you're needing your space
To do some navigating
I'll be here patiently waiting
To see what you find"
This song correlates with Three O'clock in the morning. Both songs can be interpreted as an old love being rekindled. In Three O'clock in the morning Paul Whiteman sings "my heart keeps beating in time, sounds like an old sweet love tune" setting a romantic mood and draws Daisy in and in I wont give up Jason sings "i wont give up on us...i'm giving you all my love" setting a romantic mood and faith in a relationship.
