This has given me a unique outlook on the appreciation of hard work and it's rewards. There is something to be said about raising a plant from a delicate seedling, to the point of harvest. Not only are you responsible for that life form in the aspect of nurturing and care, but it is also up to you to appreciate and use the product that you created to it's upmost potential. My heavy gardening influences also directly effect my career as a chef in regards to the appreciation of fresh, delicious produce and the efforts required to achieve that. The local culture here has shaped my upbringing. From the heavy religious beliefs of our state, to my love for the outdoors. I spent many summers with my family hiking through southern Utah national parks. I look out at our gorgeous mountains everyday.
