Beyond Belief - Josh Hamilton

Beyond Belief is an autobiography of Josh Hamilton's life. Josh was the first overall pick in the 1999 MLB Draft. Hamilton was bound for the MLB until he started experimenting with drugs, and alcohol. He explains how a young man who had it all went off the rails and couldn't get back on. Hamilton's major league debut didn't come until 7 years after the draft. He was suspended from the MLB several times for substance abuse, all of this delayed the start of his career.

I enjoyed this book because it shows how everyone struggles at some point in their life. He really goes in depth on what really happened, and he doesn't shy away from telling the whole truth. Also, Hamilton never places blame on anyone other than himself, which in cases like this people would just say its someone else fault. I'd recommend this book mainly to people who like sports, especially baseball fans. People who like to learn about peoples struggles, and determination to overcome addiction would enjoy this book.

The Leviathan - Scott Westerfeld

The Leviathan, by Scott Westerfeld is a very original and fresh idea. It explores the possibilities of an alternate timeline, one in which the world is separated by Darwinists, and Clankers. The Darwinists live by weaving the threads of life to alter and change animals, by combining the DNA of other animals to other animals, creating new animals with a variety of purposes. And on the other side, there are the Clankers. They do not believe in the Darwinists way of controlling nature, so they mainly use big and heavy machines, such as flying airships, Tesla cannons, and armored walkers. It is all set during the events of World War 2. The story follows Alek, the bastard son of an Archduke, and the prince of Hohenburg, and Deryn, the air"man" who is posing as a male so she can be in the air forces. These two will end up changing each others live forever.

I love this book because it gives a nice twist on the traditional World War stories, and traditional steampunk stories. The characters are both very relatable and interesting, and not one second of this book bored me. It's even better, because the book is actually the first in a trilogy, the others being even better than the first. It combines many genres to form its own special one, which can appeal to all. It has a bit of romance, lots of action, everything anybody could want. The idea and premise of the book itself really appeals to me, and it may appeal to others. I recommend this book to anybody who loves a very fluent story, and people who are fans of the World War and Steampunk genres.

The maze Runner is about Thomas, a maze runner. We are introdused to him as he's trapped in an elevator going up to the maze. Because all the people in the maze are test subjects, they also have all of thier memories wiped before entering the maze. This means that Thomas, doesn't even know his own name by the time he reaches the middle safe zone of the maze. There he meets the secondary charactors, that fallow him in his atempt to leave the maze for good.

I like this book becuase you never know what twists the writer is willing to make. The boook is almost unpredictable, as the main events take place. Its also apart of a fleashed out world, that acts as the main setting in the maze runner series. Also, the secondary charactors have some depth to them as well, and react like anyone else would to be trapped in a maze. I love how the book gives a little hisotry to what happend in the maze safe zone, to make the way it is by the time Thomasget up there.

Beyond Belief is a book all about baseball player Josh Hamilton. It talks about all of his struggles and triumphs. It begins with Josh talking about his little league days. He was known as a prodigy and baseball was just so easy to him. He talked about his skills and his starting as a junior player. After high school, Josh went right into the draft and was drafted 1st Overall in the 1999 by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. With many injuries delaying his MLB debut, Josh found his way into drug addiction. For many years Josh went into a deep drug addiction and nearly died on several occasions. He also goes on to talk about how his grandmother helped him to get on the right track and become a successful MLB Star.

I enjoyed this because it shows how even sports superstars can face some very large struggles in their life. But most of all, it shows how you can overcome them and still be successful. He never blamed his addiction on the man who got him addicted, he blames it on himself. In fact, he says the reason for the majority of his late career injuries is due to the drugs. Saying it physically weakened him. I would recommend this book to sports players, sports lovers and people who love a good overcoming the odds story. His determination and perseverance made this a great read. he was very honest throughout the books and included all the bad things he did and all the good things he did.

When a boy named park moves to her neighborhood they slowly start developing a connection on their school bus. They continue to grow as friends and then end up as boyfriend and girlfriend. Their relationship is forbidden by Richie so it's hard for them to see each other. Eleanor's life at home becomes harder and harder to deal with, so her and park come up with a plan to get get her to safety.

I enjoyed this book because it deals with real life subject matter that people could be dealing with in their own lives. It's very realistic with the situations that happen throughout the whole book. It appeals to me because it has a really good message behind it. It shows that if you really want something and work hard for it, you can achieve it. On the other hand, it also shows that not everything is meant to be, and that sometimes it is easier to let go that to hold on and continue to suffer. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes adventure as well as a little bit of romance, both themes are pretty equally balanced so there's not too much of either one of them.

This is Where it ends is a story that is told in a span of 52 minutes. It is also told from four different perspectives. The beginning of the book starts off in the high school auditorium for an assembly when something tragic happens. All the doors are locked, the students and teachers are stuck from going out, and stops anyone from coming in. Suddenly, there is gunshots that start in the auditorium. With everyone scram belling, Autumn, one of the main character, realizes that it is her brother. In 52 minutes students and teachers are trying to get out of the school before something bad happens.

The reason why I love this book is because it tells an amazing story in little less of an hour. I like how it tells the story from different people perspectives, it helps me understand what everyone is thinking not just one person. It's not a true story but it is an idea of what really happens when a school shooting happens. I would recommend this book to anyone in high school and is willing to read about something that is really happening in the real world.

So Roz decides to become his mother and build a house for them with the help of the animals. All the animals start to realize that Roz isn't a monster and they all give her a chance. That's when the adventure between Roz and Brightbill's (her son) adventures really start.

I really like this book because its very interesting and i always look forward to reading it. It has a great story of someone that starts out rough and that no one wants around. But good things happen and they are accepted as one of them and start to enjoy life a lot more. What appealed to me was the interesting title and cover of the story. I would recommend this book to any high school student that's interested in an interesting read about something different. Id really recommend it.

this book is about the life of Theoren Fleury and how he went from a poor and reckless kid to rich and famous hockey player. It talks about his addictions to drugs and alcohol. his crappy childhood. And NHL career. This book also talks about other hockey players and other people that made an impact on his life .

I really enjoyed this book because he has a variety of cool and intense stories and I love learning and reading about other people. Another reason that I liked this book is because it involves hockey and I like hockey. it was written by him so it is him telling the stories so I enjoyed that too. The last thing I enjoyed about this book is reading how he beat the odds making it to the NHL after all he went through, this book is truly inspiring and I would recommend this book to high schoolers.

This book takes place back in the Victorian era. Fourteen year old Faith and her family had just moved from their home in Kent to a small island called Vane. After their arrival, Faith got word that they moved because her father was involved in a scandal. But one morning, her father was found dead at the base of a cliff. Medical doctors blew it off as an accident, but Faith knew better. She knew that it was a murder. The plot of the story has to do with Faith's adventures while trying to find her father's killer, and a supposed lie tree which if fed enough lies, can reveal a truth.

I enjoy this book for many reasons. First, it has to do with murder mystery, something that keeps the reader thinking. Second off, the book is filled with action. While not all parts are action-filled, you still get a nice balance between action and daily life. The book also gives the reader a glimpse into what life was like back in the Victorian era. It really shows how girls were treated in comparison to boys. The book also has a sort of fantasy theme to it, as shown with the lie tree itself.

This book is a mature read because there are a lot of swears and wouldn't be suited for young readers. She is also secretly in love with her boy best friend Robinson. Robinson on the other hand, is bad kid and he is a rule breaker. Axi called Robinson and said she had a plan for them and to meet her at the coffee shop at 2am. When they met at the coffee shop, Axi told Robinson she wanted to run away and go all across the US. They both went and packed their bags and left that night. Throughout the book, Axi and Robinson experienced lots of adventures and the trip is so carefree. The trip really brings Axi and Robinson closer together and really test the strength of their love.

The reason why I love this book is because the adventures the two teens go on are exciting, it has a great story line. I also love the way James Patterson wrote this book. They stop in so many different cities along their way to the other side of the country. The story about their adventure and how they fell more and more in love while the trip went on really kept me reading. I would recommend this book to other teenage girls because it is a book you will really enjoy. Once you pick up the book you won't be able to stop reading.

Also, the plot was deep and had many different details. I needed to know what was happening and I couldn't stop reading it. The Lie Tree- Frances Hardingee
The Lie Tree- Frances Hardingee

And NHL career. This book also talks about other hockey players and other people that made an impact on his life .

This is Where it Ends - Marieke Nijkamp
This is Where it Ends - Marieke Nijkamp
This is Where it ends is a story that is told in a span of 52 minutes. It is also told from four different perspectives. The beginning of the book starts off in the high school auditorium for an assembly when something tragic happens.

The Scorch Trials is the second book of the Maze Runner series. The book follows Thomas and the other Gladers on their adventure as they continue to participate in the trials given to them by WICKED. After they escaped the maze, Thomas and the others wake up in a dorm fashioned with bunk beds for all the boys, and a new kid Aris. They were told that unless they were to walk 100 miles across The Scorch, which is what they call the earth after it was roasted by a solar flare. If they reached the end of "The Scorch Trials" they would be given the cure and would not die from the disease. During their travel across The Scorch, they run into many obstacles and problems which make them question what they are doing and if it is all worth it.

I really like this book because its very interesting and i always look forward to reading it. It has a great story of someone that starts out rough and that no one wants around. But good things happen and they are accepted as one of them and start to enjoy life a lot more. What appealed to me was the interesting title and cover of the story. And she can’t stop worrying about her dad, who’s loving and fragile and has never really been alone

I enjoyed this book because it makes introverts feel less alone, acknowledging that there are fantastic books written about them. It allows a view into a college lifestyle and the problems that can come with it. It is also a realistic look at the "fangirl lifestyle". I would recommend this book to high schoolers and fellow fangirls. This book is a fun view into what may come in their lives.

The Death Cure - James Dashner
The Death Cure - James Dashner
This is the final book in the Maze Runner trilogy. The story picks up right where "'The Scorch Trials" left off. Thomas, Minho, and Newt are once again stuck at WICKED headquarters. They then have to break out and escape the torturous trials. The Maze Runner series set far in the future at time when solar flares have burnt the earth to a crisp and brought a deadly disease to the planet that makes people lose their minds.
This series is about decisions and making sacrifices for the greater good.

I love this book because it is science fiction and I'll read pretty much any interesting Sci-Fi book. I enjoy this book in particular because it makes me think about what may come in the future and what sacrifices the human race will make to survive. I'd recommend this book to anyone who likes mysteries, action, and adventures.

They have to journey towards the north in seek of refuge away from the sun flare's damage while avoiding being infected by the deadly disease.

I enjoyed this book because it was very fast paced with constant action. The book had plot twists and compelling characters that you couldn't learn to love. This book it very detailed and really brings you into the story like you're experiencing the events yourself. It is also quite graphic at times leaning towards a more mature audience. I would recommend this book high school students that that enjoy books that have lots of action and suspense.

When the the king of there nation finds out about this dragon he sends magical beasts named Ra'zac who are incredibly strong and fast. When Saphira and the boy find out about the Ra'zac they flee from their home town, to the spine (the woods) with a storyteller named Brom. They decided to find a rebel group called the Varden who want to overthrow the king.

I enjoyed this book because it was action packed, you never know what is going to happen next, it is very descriptive, and there are a lot adventures. There is magic, magical creature, and dragons. I recommend this book to people who like fantasy books and magic. People who like action and adventure will enjoy this book.

I really liked this book because it kept you reading and wanting more. There's so many plot twists and turns along the way. This book also has quite a bit of romance and will make you feel warm and cozy inside. I also really like the fact that it's a shorter novel and doesn't take to long to read. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a quick little romance novel. I would also say it's a young adult read. I really liked this novel I hope you do to.

Beyond Belief - Josh Hamilton
Beyond Belief - Josh Hamilton

The Leviathan - Scott Westerfeld

Beyond Belief - Josh Hamilton
Beyond Belief - Josh Hamilton

Maze Runner - James Dashner
Maze Runner - James Dashner
